That looks terrible for Tkatchuk. If I'm Calgary I want someone like Marner or Rantanen for him.

He's better, but he also has much more contract uncertainty.

And as said in the description, assume that he requests trade. He wouldn't reach max value then.

Detroit passes, Monaham has 0 value especially coming off an unknown hip injury. He's basically a 4th line C now anyways.

Same to Sundqvist then. Both have one year left, and imo DET has all to win here, because prime Monahan would challenge Larkin at their 1C, statistically speaking.

It's a $3M gamble for them with very little to lose.

Well no sh*t. Nothing posted on this site is likely happening. This adds nothing to the discussion.

I don't see the point. CGY is contending now, they shouldn't move Tkachuk (at all) for futures, should it come to that.

Maybe Monahan ends up in Detroit but they aren't trading RHD to get him.

Well to be fair the idea was that they'd trade Lindstrom for Dube. Then decided to add Monahan and Sundqvist for cap relief for CGY and center depth for DET. We know DET needs centers and if Monahan is fine, he's definitely more suitable for a 2C role than Sundqvist is.

Yeah but bottom 6 wingers are a dime a dozen and good young RHDs are hard to come by.

I wouldn't call Dube bottom-6 winger. More like a mid-6 one on a good team. Lindström is a third pair guy.

Not much difference between them.

In Detroit Dube would easily be bottom 6. Detroit also has Berggren who will most likely make the team out of camp after the season he had in the AHL. Yes Limdstrom is a 3rd pair defensive defenseman. The poise he already shows at 23 almost makes him a perfect option for the 3rd pair and at 23 it's a role he could have for a long time. You also have to take in to account Detroit has no one to replace him.

Oesterle can play right side according to the site, he can play there, and it's pretty likely DET is acquiring themselves a LHD as well. I don't think moving Lindström is creating a hole they wouldn't be able to fill.

Dube would probably slot in the 3rd line in DET that's true.

Bro he's a 4th line C coming off a bad hip injury. He's not getting a 4th unless Treliving attaches a 1st or 2nd round pick on top of it.

Dube is 100% a bottom-6 winger in Detroit, He's not getting top 6 minutes over Bertuzzi, Raymond, Varana, Fabbri/Zadina/Berggren. Detroit has no place to even fit Dube.
