Canucks decline. OEL>Hayes. Hayes has an awful contract as well

I don't know the exact number but Hayes scored at something like a 60ish point pace since coming back from injury. At this point I think counting contracts him and OEL are close to even value, just depends on if you have more need at C or D

Given how thin our d-core is, OEL provides more value. We have Pettersson, Miller, and Horvat. I don’t think we need another C

Yeah, I don't see Hayes been a 60 point player over an 82 game season going forward, I see his game starting to regress as soon as next year or within a couple of years at the very least

Canucks decline, OEL provides more value to the Canucks than Hayes. I'd be open to an Ellis-OEL swap tho

even if the oilers would like the player return, that 1st rounder would have to be unprotected in the deal cause you're getting a young 2x 50G scorer, multi 100pt guy, a top 5-10 player in the league. and selling guys following down yrs like hart and provorov
