Who has ever said it’s gonna be Holtz and the 2nd overall pick for Fiala?

This trade makes 0 sense for Minnesota anymore

Russo said between $6m and $7m. “Safely” between.

I just gave him the same as Bratt.

What do you mean anymore? The news linking the two teams just came out a day or two ago.

Still making ****ty Fiala proposals even though you said the other day he won't be going to the Devils?

In the 2021 offseason he said that, Fiala is looking at 7-8 after the season he's had.

There hasn’t been any news reporting that Holtz and the 2nd overall pick should be the offer. This is quite literally the 1st time it’s ever been brought up.

This seems like an offer that should interest the Wild if they can't afford to extend Fiala. Two solid, cheap NHL pieces with upside and two 2nd round picks (one of which is top 40).

I mean is this not something that the Wild /should/ consider? Two cheap depth pieces with high upside for weathering the cap crunch, two futures including a top 40 pick? How is this not something the Wild aren't looking for lol

Zetterlund is fine, Boqvist does nothing for us. And the picks are fine too. Nothing really entices, if this is the best offer Guerin gets, he might as well let him get offer sheeted by some team and bring in some unprotected picks, if no one offer sheets him then just extend him.

This specific deal is not something the Wild should consider, no.

Extend him anyway lmao

What does the arbiter give him? Gotta be at least 7.5 at this point no?

Because it's secondary and tertiary pieces for a player like Fiala. There's no primary piece that Minnesota actually wants long term, a good higher end prospect or 1st. If there's no better package than this, I would just as soon take a 1st, 2nd, 3rd from an offer sheet. The 1st will be next year, unprotected.

Caps are not trading Sammy for Zacha. Stop it. It ain't happening, especially now that he's playing great in the playoffs. I could MAYBE see them considering VV for Zacha, but still don't think it makes sense. They don't need more 3rd liners.

I mean that's assuming Fiala is extended an offersheet and signs it. and you don't get any immediate help in that case.

If there are no better packages than this one, no one is giving him an offersheet.

Fiala has a sweetheart contract extension in the OP, so naturally I am assuming he's extended, yes.

For offer sheets, you're right, he might not get one, but I'll take that chance if this is the best Guerin can get by July 1st.

Yeah I mean, no shot is Fiala singing that extension. the arbiter gives him more regardless.

Maybe! This is a solid one though. Two (solid) futures. Two cheap, young roster players with upside.

Does this mean we should offer Brandon Duhaime, Adam Beckman and two 2nd round picks for Jesper Bratt?

Do the Devils have 14M in contract buyouts for the next 3 years? Do the Devils have any issues inking Bratt to a new deal?

If so, yes. The devils would likely not get good value for him. Like, my dudes, his name would not be out there if you could afford to keep him.
