islanders probably accept as long as there is a long term deal in place below his QO price. Like a 6 year, 7 mil or so. Maybe 7.5. Not gonna pay all that just to have to pay too much

Wings have a lot of up and coming talent on the left side, can't see them making this deal. Tyler Myers is a cap dump and a pass all day as well

OEL still has a NMC. When he was being shopped by Arizona, it was widely reported that he'd only be willing to waive to go to Vancouver or Boston.

Some Nucks fans weirdly think Myers has value at 6mil.

OEL - first, he has to waive his NTC, which he previously was only willing to do for Van and Boston. Second, I call BS on Friedman's report on this, as Alvin stated publicly that he was happy having both Hughes and OEL. Third, that's a terrible deal for Vancouver.

Trouba asked for a trade out of Winnipeg to an American team. He won't play in Vancouver.

Myers is worth way more than that. GMs around the league have more respect for Myers than that.

I don't think there's a market for Dickinson. Best guess is that they keep him for another year and hope his play improves. Otherwise, it's a buyout.

Don't know why the Islanders would want Boeser, or give that up for him. They don't have the cap space, and their immediate needs are on defense and at centre.

The Wings would highly consider this trade. However OEL has a NMC and I highly doubt he's going to waive for Detroit. He'd basically only waive for a true Stanley cup contender. And none of those team really have a need, want or the cap space to take on OEL.

Sorry but Vancouver is basically stuck with OEL unless they choose to buy him out or an equally terrible contract is coming back the other way from a contender...which really doesn't exist.

No GM in his right mind is going to retain $1.2M for 5yrs and I'd rather have Hronek over OEL.

As for the Myers deal....we'll keep the picks

Tyler Myers for Adam Erne is the deal.

Yeah well Boston just signed Hampus Lindholm, And supposedly Rutherford wants OEL gone. So he doesn't have much of a choice but to accept a deal to another team. OEL went to Vancouver due to their Swedish heritage. Detroit has a bigger Swedish heritage than Vancouver. Half of Detroit's roster could be Swedish in the next 5 years or so. Pretty sure he'd waive to go there.

Forsberg isn't signing with Vancouver for that offer, On the open market Forsberg gets at least $9,000,000 x 7 years if not closer to $9,500,000 x 7 years.

I mean, he could simply say "Nah, thanks bros, but I'm staying!" rather than going to Detroit...

The Isles could be a sleeper team to acquire Boeser IMO. Lou is obviously going to try to make some improvements and they'll have some cap space to play with. Also, if Boeser signs a longer deal this offseason the AAV will definitely come in below 7.5 mill.

Well yeah he can block a deal to Detroit, But he's going to need to offer Rutherford/Allvin at least 5 teams he'd be willing to waive for. Because he's definitely going to be hitting the road this summer.

I don't know...the Friedman quote was "“I just think that the Canucks have tried to look around to see if there’s a market there, at all,” Friedman said. “And don’t forget: OEL has say, because he’s got the no-move clause.”"

What I get from that isn't that he's definitely hitting the road, it's that the Canucks would prefer that they didn't have him/his contract, and are trying to see if there's anything out there.

Fair enough, That's a pretty brutal contract for the next 5 years. Good luck moving it unless it's a team with tons of cap space. Like Anaheim, Detroit, Buffalo, New Jersey and Ottawa.

Oh I don't disagree at all...as a Ducks fan, my view (which is likely shared by Wings fans and potentially Devils fans) is that sure, we've got cap space this offseason, but 1-2-3 years down the line that starts disappearing pretty quickly with guys like Z, Terry, etc. getting extended, and adding actual productive players (hopefully?). OEL actually had a *good* season, but I'd have to be well compensated to consider taking 5 years of him, especially since Van's hands *should* be tied if they're 100% obsessed with attempting to dump it.

15th overall and a 3rd isn't even enough by itself to take OEL's contract, that thing is brutal. Adding Hronek just makes this laughable
