I'm guessing that you'll be hard pressed to get an accurate indication of his value from most NYR fans...The way the Buch trade went down- and then the contract he signed with STL...Goodrow (unfortunately for him) is seen as one of a few players who embodies the "move from glitz to grit". Reality is it is hard to believe Drury couldn't have gotten a better return than he did for Buch- but there is also probably way more to the story why Buch had to be moved so urgently. Another reality is that Goodrow really is a good player to have in the lineup- when he stays on the 3rd or 4th line...his contract isn't great- but due to his contribution he is worth something. I'll take a stab here- a 2nd and a 3rd??? or maybe (2) 3rds??? Admittedly, I could be way off here- but one thing I'm pretty certain about is that NYR aren't really looking to trade him- so unless moving him to enable a Strome extension or to fend off a Kakko offer sheet- don't think he'll be pryed away on the cheap.

No lol he's a keeper, in fact we need more like him. He's missed as our shadow, forechecker, leader and shtt disturber. Hopefully he's healthy for the second round

Quality player. Terrible contract because of the length/age/style.
The amount of contracts and juggling of salaries to get him in the lineup long term, TML would be worse off.

Someone with the cap space, & long term outlook for a bottom 6 grit grinder, would probably offer a 2nd & a sweetener.

Just another post where Leaf fan "seems to hate their own". Engvall and Goodrow had identical stats, but some for some reason a 3.6m X 5 player seems to so needed by Leafs?
Besides the Leafs don't need LWers...wiht Robertson, Steeves ready to NHLer,....and Knies not far behind. At why do the Leafs need an expensive 3rd line centre (if they that's where the author wants to play Goodrow)

Contract maybe a little extra, but to say he sucks is a bad take. Dude busts his ass every shift and can actually play defense. He’s been a stabilizing presence which is exactly what the lineup needed.

To each their own. You don’t like him and I do. Have a good one.
