Yes have to hit cap floor, but less years, and gives Buffalo a better chance to sign him

I'd want the Flyers to keep Laughton, and I think they will. But value-wise that's not bad

I like the Philly trade even though it temporarily blocks peterka. I like Ian Cole as a depth right d. I would add another vet goalie to the mix- houser and subban don't count. And butcher is awful, I wouldn't bring him back even for depth. Depth left d don't seem to have much value, I know you can find somebody far better that would cost pocket change to get.

They aren’t going to be able to leave Peterka off the team next year.

I like Laughton but at this price it’s definitely tempting.

He's done really well, nobody can deny that, but if the adams decides that a few larger vets are what this team needs to go to the next level, he won't be automatically gifted a spot on the roster (like so many first round picks in the last 10 years).

He keeps saying he’s not going to box out young players. He deserved to have made the team even last training camp.

I'm not really disagreeing with you. I'm saying if adams decided we needed something else, it wouldn't shock me to have peterka be the first call up. And I did see adams say that he's gonna give the kids a chance. I just looked to see how the amerks did on tues- lost 6-3. Peterka had one, ruotsalainen had two.

Quick edit- ruotsalainen has 7 points in 3 playoff games.

I like the idea of using his waivers exempt to use him as an injury call up. It gives Buffalo a really good extra forward that isnt sitting in the press box and for him, he gets eased into NHL experience but he also continues to play top line minutes when not up, as well as giving him the drive to compete for a spot not just inherit it

Ruotsalainen is what happens when you stick a guy on the 4th line and he doesnt get enough NHL reps every night. Thats what i want to avoid with Peterka

Over valueing Mittelstadt, undervalueing Laughton. Mitts is redundant, Laughton puts up just as many points as him but offers way more

I don't know about laughton being better than mitts. Mitts needs a few more year s to develop and show he can stay healthy and n Laughton a great piece but mitts easily has the tools box to be a much better player. Im not sure its a good feal at all. Although i do like laughton and what he brings to a team i feel he's the kinda player a cup team has buried on thier 4th line.

Mittelstadt was hurt once, this year, he has never shown he cant stay healthy. Hes also been in the league 5 years and is turning 24. If Laughton doesnt add anything, Sabres have Peterka to take over. To me Laughton seems like the guy that steps up when the playoffs come around, and has that extra gear for the much more physical playoff season
