I feel like the Rangers shouldn’t make this deal given Lindgren and Miller in the top 4 (who are both young - 24 and 22). It just seems unnecessary.

As a Habs fan I would be happy for you to have Bedard... (especially if Zona are moved to Quebec😏)

NYR would be crazy to do that trade.
Lunqvist and a 1st or Lundqvisdt and Chytil and a 2nd max.

huh? you want a top pairing d man making bottom pairing money for a few meh pieces? it will take a first or two + a couple good prospects on top of a promising young player

Jiricek's got a more well rounded game. I'd bet they're taking Slaf anyways instead of a d man

With Lindgren, Trouba, Fox, Shneider, Miller and Nemeth already locked into the top 6 and Jones and Lundqvist trying to force their way in I really think the Rangers D is set.
I could see them wanting to replace Nemeth but Jones is right there and NHL ready and could easily be their 3rd pair LD. If anything they should be looking for cheap forward help and a better backup net-minder.

Beyond the need Lundqvist is easily worth a mid 1st, chytil is a decent 3C who had a rough year but has upside. and Korzach is young but has decent middle 6 potential.
it's just way too much for 2 year years of cost controlled guy who at best is the 2nd or 3rd LD on the current rangers depth chart (but logically i understand he could be a top pair LD on a team like the SJS, LAK, or ARZ). plus Chychrun had a sub par year and before you remind me how bad Arizona is both Gostisbehere, Stralman put up more points and with similar Corsi and Fenwic numbers so its hard to fully blame the bad team.
if they did do the deal it would have to be Nemeth, Lundqvist, and a 1st for Chychrun for it to make sense honestly.
that's a decent NHL D man a top prospect who is NHL ready now and a 1st for a 2nd pairing D man, albeit a good 2nd pairing D man.

Only someone who pays attention to points could undervalue how important Lindgren is. He literally allows Fox to flourish because of his steadying presence, but you are entitled to your opinion.
