Who do you think they’ll draft? Jiricek or Savoie?

Either would be a good shout.

Both play needed positions/skills in the organization.

If they draft Jiricek, Zamula stays as 7th or 8th dman on club, and the team doesn;t trade for Cernak but picks up a steady/phsical PK 3LD in free agency. Making it a Provorov-Ellis, York-Risto, Vet-Jiricek lineup. with a Hagg type as 7th if Zamula/York show growing pains.

But Savoie's speed and skills would work too. Maybe he pushes Tippett/Allison/Lindblom down or out.

My opinion? With limited NHL looks Cam York, Zamula, Hogberg and Attard all looked good. Ginning, Wylie are coming along, and the relative age of Risto, Provorov makes Jiricek/Nemec not as needed as a forward. Tippett, Frost both showed flashes of top 6 ability, and with Tuomaala, Foerster, Wisdom, O'Brien, Brink all looking really good as top 9 prospect forwards, it makes forward a pretty good in the organization. But a guy like Savoie is hard to skip over.

Difficult, but Jiricek is viewed as more can;t miss than Savoie, and I think PHI cant screw this up. Im also a firm believer in an organization not having the playing time/coaching to develop alot of players at once, and theres a little gap between hogberg/zamula's development to makes Jiricek more likely.

I love Savoie, he can play both C and RW. Jiricek is nice too, I don’t think you can go wrong with either tbh

To be fair, when you look at organizational depth, we are really good at forward and defense and goaltending, but really it comes down to the limited exposure of York, Zamula, Attard, Cates, Frost, Brink, Tippett and whether some of them are ready and can play top 6/top 4. We look good in depth prospects like Wisdom, o'brien, Allison, Ratcliffe, Hogberg types that can fill bottom 6/5-7th dman.

The team lacks speed, physicality and needs some top end talent. I think they have it, just need the right vets to assist them along so that they can develop. Thats why I went with Debrusk, cernak, burakovsky and the youngsters above, but really the organizatrion isn;t in bad shape, if 3 of those youngsters can contribute.

I also wonder if they can look to trade down to 7 and pick up a 2nd rounder they don’t have. You still would get Savoie or Kemell

And they have some pretty good moveable commodities to possibly get a 2nd too (lindblom, fedotov, ratcliffe come to mind)

Makes sense. But yeah when I look at Philly, what stands out to me is the need for elite talent. So whoever they pick should be real good. If Nemec drops to 5, that would be insane

Its light, true, the around 65th overall pick, but depends on how much you like tuomaala, who has looked great, I saw a few proposals yesterday that had cernak for a late 2nd or early 3rd alone

Cernak simply wont be traded. He is cheap and effective. Sergachev will be traded before him

I don't hate the PHI/BOS deal, but I don't love it either. It would force Boston to have to trade two of Grz, Forbort, Reilly since Lindholm is locked in long term. It also weakens and already poor RW depth for Boston.

It SHOULD be Jiricek or Nemec, whichever is available. This organization hasn't drafted a RHD with their first round pick in over 30 years (I'm not kidding, you can look it up) and year after year they make stupid decisions to try to add RHD via other means. Not to mention I firmly believe they're both top-5 players in this draft regardless of position

Cernak isnt being moved. one of only 2 NHL RHD we have signed for next year and hes arguably the best RHD we have. its gonna cost a massive overpay to get a 24 year old RHD making less than 3m and is an RFA when his contract expires, let alone being in the same conference as us. it probably starts with either York or Attard, another young prospect and a decent pick
