VV is down the list of goalies I'd want to go after, let alone for the price of a 2nd. I could see circling back if other things don't work out.

As a Leafs fan, Sheary probably could fetch more, so I wouldn’t mind that trade at all. I’d 100% do it if the Leafs don’t resign Blackwell and Mikheyev

Kings accept. For what it's worth, I think Walker would explode offensively with the Caps.

I assume Mikheyev would cost too much and Sheary would be a good filler till Robertson / Knies is NHL ready. 1.5m is low cap hit

imo hes the better of the 2 goalies in Washington and could potentially be NJD starter for around 2m / year

I get that, but there are some other goalies I am interested in as well. I'm not saying it's a bad trade, I'm actually saying it is something I'd consider.

Oh i agree. i wasnt sure if the Devils have given up on Blackwood or not... are you guys are looking for more of a 1B rather than a Lehner type or Husso something like that? more just wondering

Why are Caps fans so eager to dump Sheary? I don't get it...as if he's a problem or something.

I'd give up a 2nd round pick for that goalie all day, unless they have a bigger name in mind

Was gonna say the same thing. He's perfect with Backstrom, cheap, and puts in more consistent effort than most of their forwards. No idea why everyone wants to dump him.

I also don't get breaking up the Orlov-Jensen pairing. The defense isn't the problem (well, Carlson's lapses are part of the problem but there's really nothing they can do about it at this point), I think they just swap in Alexeyev for Schultz and use the savings to fix goaltending and the forwards.

Durzi's value is pretty high right now as our best pro-right-shot defenseman, however, it's projected that Spence, Grans, Faber, and Clarke could be even better. If one of these players proves capable of being a more impactive player the Kings would trade him in a package either for: (1) An established top-4 left-shot defenseman who is effective on special teams (2) a top-6 winger who can play well with Kopitar (it's a hard ask, because to date its been like 4-5 guys who actually played well with him)

Taking up a roster spot of a player that needs / should be playing. He's a great player just needs to go so we can play some youth

That's kinda silly. He's 29 and producing really well, especially for his cap hit. You literally describe him as a great player, but want to remove him simply for youth? For a younger player that's going to be worse? Sorry that makes no sense.

There's 5-6 other dudes that should be moved and removed before Sheary.

Is it actually silly? GREAT EXAMPLE of youth not playing Seig Vrana Stephenson Boyd Sanford... Also guys like Protas Snively McM playing full time should be able to produce nearly what hes doing WHILE also devolving them . last year sheary was on a 34p pace... i would sell him on a hot year hopefully get more than a 3rd shoot for like a 2nd

I haven't given up on Blackwood, I do want someone he splits with and has to win time from. I'm much more on the Husso, Campbell, or Lehner train for that. Maybe even Holtby after his year in DAL.

The only reason you're selling him is because the Caps won't sell the players they should sell. So you're left moving a guy that any true contender would love to add.

Caps ain't a true contender.

There's a reason Sheary was a contributor on two cup teams.

If they trade Eller and Hags, then Snively can take 4LW, McMichael can take 3C, and Protas can play 1C in Hershey and be a fallback in case McMichael struggles. Protas's 24 points in 42 games there this year tells me he hasn't outgrown the AHL yet. Trading a cheap contributor like Sheary to open a lineup spot for him is premature.
