Scheifele to Replace Bergeron

Description
I think Bergeron stays one more year unless the B's win the Cup. If he stays, you bring back a similar roster and then try to replace Bergy through free agency in 2023 with Horvat, Miller, or O'Reilly. If he leaves though, you can't waste a whole year waiting. A trade is superior to a signing, as the UFA options are not great but will be paid like they are. Scheifele has a nice contract for the next two years and I think his extension AAV is probably around $7.5-$8MM which is doable for a No. 1 center scoring 70+ points.

Marchand may be an all-world player, but he's been skating on a line with Bergeron his whole career and is a creature of habit. Once Bergy leaves, Pastrnak needs to go back up to the top line to give Marchand some familiarity. Hall and Haula have built that connection and just need a Pastrnak-style player on the right side. It would be outstanding if Lysell can be that, but the B's can try to mix and match. Third line sticks and fourth line replaces Foligno with McLaughlin/Steen/Wagner, which is a net gain. Blue line stays largely the same though I think Zboril could push Clifton for starting job. I think you can sneak Brown through waivers.

The $2MM cushion will create enough cap space by the deadline to add a middle-six rental if Lysell, Haula, Frederic, etc. aren't working out. McLaughlin and Lysell are also waiver exempt and paper demotions will add even more space.

You have to think Winnipeg turns that down easily and without question. A 1st 3 drafts from now and a quantity package of unneeded players for the Jets is a laughable offer.

Winnipeg turns that down. That stated, if Bruins go and get Scheiffle they'll need a new coach because he doesn't play defense.

I haven't seen many jet fans ask for anything outrageous. Most just want a fair deal that fills team needs, unlike this one.

I'm not going to go through all the ACGM's to give you example, they're there. Maybe its my biased that I'm not as hype on MS55 as others.

Schefiele and the Bruins really isn't a fit. Debrusk has been mentioned, but he isn't a fit based solely on him being a left shot when the Jets already have too many left shots. Plus; the Jets would want pieces like Lysell and Carlo back in any trade, and the Bruins wouldn't want to give up those pieces. If Bergeron leaves the Bruins may just have to settle with a 1-2 punch of Haula and Coyle, or maybe dip into free agency and see if Trocheck or someone like that will sign.

Oh man, simply put, this value is no where close. If a 1st that's 3 years away is the most exciting part of the offer, it's probably not going to work.

If it makes you feel better, if the trade is made this summer after the draft then the pick is only two years away. No one is trading 2023 picks easily too.
