That is a huge over pay by the wild. And it would only make sense if the wild trade Fiala somewhere else. Plus they wouldn't be able to resign miller when his contract ends because of cap space.

Not a chance Minnesota does this. Minnesota isn't interested in JT Miller dude. Guerin doesn't want him and isn't paying this for him. Nor is any team for s rental

Remember when Guerin wouldn't trade for eichel whose better and has more terms? Yeah, nobody is trading this for a rental. Canucks fans should have learned this

You guys just got eliminated in the 1st round. Wild have two choices, and without a guy like Miller, taking a leap, or even just a sizeable step forward is not one of them

I'm sure the ask for Eichel was more than above

Well Guess what, Guerin and Minnesota won't. They aren't operating like this. So you can try this with another team fan base. Jt Miller is a rental. teams weren't willing to pay the price for him when he wasn't

Buffalo ended up getting three 1st round pick definition Guerin isn't getting rid of top prospects or 1st round picks for anyone especially rentals in addition to dumba

Hunt, Khusnutdinov, and Beckman aren't what I'd call top prospects

K, enjoy the long-term pain. Canucks will trade Miller to the team that has the cap space to extend him if it turns out the Wild aren't at least a little bit desperate as you so astutely point out

Well they Mkght not be go you , but they are to Guerin and especially judd brackett who convinced Guerin to trade Luke kunin, so they can select Marat Khusnutdinov. Wild aren't interested in JT Miller. They never really were and Guerin walked away. So with all due respect, try forcing him on another team fan with this price.

Vancouver fans need to realize no one will pay thus, especially now that he's a rental, he's not getting more than a 1st and maybe b prospect for being a rental

Wild have kaprizov, boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek, Jared spurgeon, jonas brodin, and top 3 prospect pool. Do wild aren't hurting. If other teams were dumb or interested in JT Miller that much, the price would have been paid

LOL, Vancouver will look to monetize Miller as best they can if they themselves can't re-sign him. They will look to get more than just a rental price should an acquiring team be able to extend him. They aren't going to accept just the rental price, and if Miller's value truly dropped as low as you proclaim, then he would have been dealt at the trade deadline. Canuck management is smart enough to recognize that. It's you who is missing a loose end here

Yeah, but once the recapture penalties have subsided for the most part, Kaprizov's contract will be almost up and Spurgeon will be in his mid-thirties and still making 7.575M against the cap

You are talking about a president of Canucks who worked with Guerin twice And was swindle in a two trades by Guerin. Yeah , no. GM's aren't smart because Buffalo waited on trading eichelsnd got less value, offers, & actually quality back then their ask. Miller wasn't traded @deadline because Vancouver in playoffs spot and their team president biting off more than he can handle. Vancouver team president thought him leaking out all those details in the media , teams would bite. Instead it was Vancouver fans

And Minnesota will have a bunch of cap space to improve, and top prospects pool year in and year out with judd brackett as head man on draft.

Still risk wasting the bulk of Kaprizov's contract plus a handful of Eriksson Ek's prime years. PR ain't going to overlook that

You don't know what moves Guerin and front office will make. Just because they don't want jt Miller and dropped out on eichel means than you think they don't , won't improve. Kaprizov loves Minnesota especially Zuccarello. So 15 other teams at least refused to trade for jt Miller asking price. So you can get mad at your gm for that. Teams aren't giving win to another gm or overpayment

True, but I personally don't see JR being as aggressive as he was in his Pittsburgh days. I think he's moved on to taking a more calculated approach with his fresh start leading a different organization. We'll see which way the cookie crumbles

Hey, if Miller's trade value is truly just a 1st and a B-prospect, Canucks will take that, but I still believe there will be a strong market for him come the off-season for a team that wants to extend him long-term. Miller's situation isn't hampered by any medical aspect the way Eichel's was as well

Fair point on your last argument, but on the former, yes, we don't know what Billy G and co. will manage to pull off, but the reality is, a team can only ice so much talent within a given amount of cap space. Honestly, who actually expects the Wild to be contenders over the next three years? For some teams, that is all the time they need to do a proper rebuild
