Change the Calgary 1st and Hoffman to Dvorak and I'd do it.

The Jets aren't trading Dubois and certainly not if you expect then to take back a cap dump.

Dubois isn't worth first overall this year. Adding other assets is just a waste

It's kind of funny because Jets fans don't want to trade PLD for 1 and Habs fans don't want to trade 1 for PLD.

PLD is a former 3OA pick that is about to enter his prime. With Wright he's probably 3 years away from really making an impact in the NHL and for the Jets the window is gone by then. Scheif, Helle, Wheels will all be up and Ehlers and KFC will be up a year or 2 later.

So in an ideal world PLD extends here long term and Habs pick Wright and once Price comes off the books can look to be competitive again. The allure of a French-Canadian 1C that is big, physical, fast and handsome feels like a moth to a flame for Habs Management and ownership. If at the draft in Montreal they announced the trade and had PLD walk out in a Habs jersey where he announced his extension every Habs fan would cream their jeans having PLD Suzuki as a 1-2 punch for the next 7 years.

That wouldn't be great for the Jets though. It creates a giant hole in our current roster at a time we're supposed to be competitive. If we move PLD and we move 55, suddenly Helle is going to want to be moved too and we might as well move everyone and start from scratch. In my view it goes way beyond what the return for PLD would be because of the additional dominos that would fall as a result.

If the Pens aren't going to extend Letang they could include his rights in a trade
