Description
Trade is not realistic, just want the cap off the books. I didn't bother with the trades because different GMs value each guy differently and these guys value was up and down the whole season so idk where some GMs value these guys. Talbot is traded because he wants to go to a team who believes in him more. Was amazing for last 15 games or so and was still benched for playoffs. Wild are OK with it because they believe Fleury has a couple more years left in him. Dumba is traded to make room for Fiala. Kulikov is traded to make room for Fleury and because of his terrible postseason. Foligno is traded because his play dipped after his suspension, to make room for Fleury, to open up a spot for Tyson Jost to get more minutes, and because he is getting older. I don't know how long the contracts of the RFAs are for because I don't know when they become UFAs, so I just put 1 year and about how much I think they will get paid. Fiala's great last month and bad postseason allows him to stay on the team, but at a lower AAV than what was expected before playoffs. Lambos and Beckman are just placeholders for scratched vet minimum players the Wild sign in free agency. And with roughly 4 million left and only a backup goalie spot to fill the Wild sign someone for max 2.75 million to leave 1.25 million in wiggle room during the season. A guy like Holty sorta fits so I went with him. This lineup relies on young guys stepping in and contributing, but it allows them to play with good players that won't leave them out to dry. This lineup really keeps as much as last year's group together as possible which is what I think this coaching staff wants. But the off-season is crazy so we will see what happens.

Trading Foligno but keeping Greenway is certainly a decision….not one I’d recommend myself, but it is a choice

Foligno is the last to be traded. Greenway was just extended so I don't see him being traded. If the Wild can get Fleury, Middleton, Fiala, and a backup goalie for less than what I put then I believe they will have enough money to keep Foligno.

Well they can definitely get a backup for less than 2.5, but I just don’t think there’s any chance they’d ever move Foligno before Greenway. The return would have to be absurd.

IMO, Greenway should be gone. But I do agree that I don’t think they’ll move him.

That said, if Guerin ever dealt Moose before Greenway for anything less than a ransom, he should be canned on the spot.

Changes to:
Fiala 7,250,000
Middleton 2,800,000
Fleury 3,750,000
Backup 1,250,000
No scratched 13th forward signing frees up 900k
Duhaime to scratched 13th forward
Jost to 4th line
Free's up 3,100,000 which is exactly Foligno's contract to stay on GREEF line.

That looks closer. You could probably shave 500k off Middletons hit, if we wanna pinch pennies.

I don’t think MAF comes back, but respecting your vision, I think that’s close to what you’re looking for.

CHI fan here. From what I remember throughout his short time in CHI, there was a lot of reports and speculation that he wasn't sure if he'd play after this year but if he did it would most likely just be ONE more season. If that is the case, I think he would probably take a fairly substantial discount to help whatever team he decides to play for. I thought it sounded like he might be coming back to CHI from all the talk of him not wanting to move his family again. But if he wants to be on a competitive team in his final season, I doubt that happens. Especially if CHI is tanking purposely, which if we're being honest CHI is probably going to suck whether they are trying or not. Haha. So, taking all of that into consideration, I think you could probably get him to come back for half as much as you have him signed for here, maybe even less than that. I was rooting for you guys, and not just because I wanted that 1st round pick. I have an irrational hatred for the Blues.
