If BUF wants Tuch for a 2nd, making it a late 1st and adding a 3rd isn't alot for Petry.

I know you don't really want him, but giving 29 and 80 for Tuch and Petry is better in term of value than giving 40 for Tuch.

You get homeboy Tuch's brother, and add a decent RHD. MTL management look good getting a 1st for Petry, even if they added Tuch to close the deal.

The Sabres won't trade for Petry because they already have 3 offensive minded defensemen. They need big stay at home guys who can protect the net and win physical battles in the D zone. That is not Perry's MO so he just doesn't fit Buffalos needs. You combine that with his age and cap hit and he would be a negative asset for buffalo.

If Petry is soooooo amazing, why is every Habs fan in here trying to pawn him off? Why couldn't they Habs move him at the deadline when they were selling everything that wasn't nailed down?

Teams were interested in Petry at trade deadline, but they couldn't fit him under their cap mid season. He will be traded for a late 1st this summer.

I think my trades are pretty fair value wise, but here people will tell you your trade suck instead of explaining why or propose something else.

The fact that you think Petry is hard to trade is hilarious. You're gonna look really bad when he gets traded, but i guess you're getting used to it by now (see Chiarot and Lehkonen trades).

I wouldn't criticize on other ACGMs when you only posted 3 in 1 year. At least i'm not scared to create one once in a while.

It is best to ignore his comments as he is the most irrational Sabre ACGM.

Here is the truth, Petry would be a great RHD for Buffalo.
He had more hits (140 v 121 Dahlin) and blocked shots (117 v 91 Dahlin) than any Buffalo defenseman. while his minus 11 would have been among the Sabre's best. Only Samuelsson -10, Butcher -10, Bryson -9, Hagg -9 and Jokiharju -8 were lower and none of them have Petry's offensive capabilities.
His 02:19 SHTOI/GM and 22:07 TOI/GM is a great indicator of his defensive talents as well.

@LIRIK you are correct, Hughes will get more than a late first for Petry "(see Chiarot and Lehkonen trades)".
He may get it from Buffalo, but over the past two year's the Sabres have accumulated picks and not traded them away.

I forgot to add, as you both know he has family issues which impacted his game at the beginning of the season.
He seemed to have been able to put these issues aside as over his last 28 games he had 5 goals, 16 assists, 21 points and was +2.
Only a myopic fan would not want this RHD on his team.

Definitely not pounding the table for Petry to Buffalo, but i don't think he's the worst defender on the planet like some here are implying. I think he'd be a very good influence on a young team, and the Sabres could retain half of his salary and trade him after a year or two to get most of this back if it's a bad fit.
Getting Luke Tuch isn't about getting baby bro.. it's about getting a prospect who projects to play like..... Alex Tuch. Sabres need some more guys who won't get pushed around so much when they make the playoffs. This team was awesome to watch this year, but they'd get embarrassed in playoff hockey.

Don't love it, but I think it's OK. A 4th or future 3rd would make me feel better, but I'd #trusttheprocess if Adams made this trade.
