Zaitsev, is an over paid ($4,500,000 until 2023-24) second pairing RHD
Murray, is an over paid ($6,250,000 until 2023-24) back up GK
Sokolov, is a "B" prospect who probably has a ceiling of a mid six LW
2022 3rd round pick (BOS) will be late in the round which means it is close to a fourth.

Zaitsev, hit and blocks more shots but would offer about the same value as Pysyk ($1,000,000).
Murray would be an upgrade over Tokarski ($1,000,000).
Buffalo has many other mid six forwards who have a higher ceiling than Sokolov.
IMO it would take more than Sokolov and a late 3rd for ANY team to take on $8,750,000 of un-necessary cap for two years.
Both would fill a hole for Buffalo, but their may be better options for Buffalo.

With Montreal’s cap situation you need to take back Armia in a white trade. Need a multi-year cap dump going the other way not an expiring contract.

i figured if murray is healthy he is upgrade in goaltending if he is ltir they can trade him to team that needs the cap relief for assets...as for zaitev he is still a good dman yes overpaid but he should be a good fit with owen power
