I know I'm late, but still: condolences to EsoYeezus69 and justaBoss on the Stars. Oettinger was freaking UNREAL. If there's one serious bright spot for the Stars going into next year, it's that they seem to finally have a true No. 1 G again.

Finally? They're only two years removed from Bishop. tears of joy

The Blues don't need Nylander. Make it a 3-way for an LD and we may talk.

Are you really trying to suggest the blues would turn down Binner for Willy? I highly doubt that.

I can't see a reason they wouldn't. Can you think of one they would? It doesn't help them with cap and they automatically have a sizable hole to fill, a scoring winger is about the last they need, and WIlly only has two years left before he walks anyway. It creates some new problems and solves none of the old ones.

Looking at the blues cap situation, it would essentially mean they have to sign Husso (who was challenging Binn for the starting job anyways), but not resign Perron. Of course, it would make 0 sense for them not to resign Perron since he is a key part of that team, so I can see where you're coming from here. Landing a left defenseman would be a lot better fit for STL.

So admittedly I didn't really do my research (the blues probably have the best forward depth in the NHL and are probably the last team Nylander would be traded too), and I probably agree with you. My point was Nylander has more value than Binnington.

Three. Bishop didn't play a single game in the 2020 bubble playoffs, and Oettinger wasn't the starter to open this year. Holtby was. (And if I remember correctly, he wasn't even the backup-Khudobin was.)

Heh. Not only did Bishop play in the bubble prelims, but 2022 - 2020 = 2 where I'm from. If you want to get super technical you could say two years, plus a couple months at most. But that's kinda irrelevant anyway. Three years to wait for a top shelf goalie is not so long, either. There's only so many of them out there, but Dallas has had one more often than not over the years.

Woah-I'm probably late again, but still:

Carl Hagelin’s Eye Injury Could Threaten Career

According to Hagelin, his eye injury was a “freak accident” that occurred in practice. A high stick caught him under the visor and hit him “right in the eyeball”. The incident ruptured the choroid in the back of his left eye, a collection of blood vessels responsible for the health of the eye. It has taken not one, but two surgeries to repair the injury. However, the repair is not complete. In fact, Hagelin states that he will never get full vision back in his eye and does not know how it will impact his attempt at a return next season.

And it doesn't end there:

Backstrom Opens Up On Hip Injury

Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom missed the first two months of the season with a hip injury and while he played the rest of the way, he wasn’t fully healthy. Speaking to reporters at today’s end-of-season press conference, the veteran told reporters, including Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press, that his injured hip will never fully recover while GM Brian MacLellan indicated that Backstrom continuing to play through the injury in its current form will not be sustainable moving forward. As a result, MacLellan indicated that the 34-year-old will be exploring his options.

The last time we had the Battle of Alberta in the playoffs I was a 17 year old kid. I’m sure quite a few of you weren’t even born yet. This is the biggest sports moment for us since our cup finals in the 2000s. I’m in Sask but I can drive into Alberta in less than 30 mins. The area I live in has a ton of fans for both teams. It’s going to be fun!

Ya, I live in a spot with tons of oilers fans (some flames fans too but definetly more oilers fans). So this series should be a lot of fun.

Don’t let me down McDavid - throwing a few bones down on the Oil tonight.

Also put McDavid first goal so - I have my fingers crossed.

Attention Emily Kaplan and everyone else at ESPN: It's pronounced, "La-Fren-Yair" not La-Fren-Yay!!!

It might be a good idea to learn the name of one of the league's future stars. This isn't just on Emily. I've heard many people in the hockey media make this mistake.

Yep, the way to pronounce it in French is around La-Fren-Yair, that's the original pronounciation

I’d expect literally nothing more from ESPN than just to get similar pronunciation.

Their broadcasts actively make me want to stop watching.

Yet, their broadcasts reported near-record viewership in the first round. I think hockey is just more popular than ever, but I'm sure they'll take credit.

I just noticed CAR has their "C" and "A" letters on the right side of the jersey instead of the left. I always though DET was the only team who put it on the right. Are there any other teams that have letters on the right I dont know about?

Pretty sure the Yotes do this, or used to. I’m not sure.

He shouldn't have. His knee was done, unfortunately.
