Not sure if I'd make the trade, but this is correct. Caufield is the only Hab on the team/in the system that can get the conversation started for the 2nd overall pick.

Our needs:

1. A goalie to compete with Blackwood
2. A big-body-soft-hands type winger who can play near or in front of net (or as our GM says, “heavier skill”).
3. Maybe a 3rd part defensive dman.

Other than that, our priorities are extending Bratt, moving out a winger or two to make space for Holtz, Zetterlund, Foote, and then start thinking about extensions for the four dmen that are up next season (Severson and Graves are UFAs, Siegenthaler and Smith are RFAs).

And the draft. And that’s it.

We should definitely be interested in CC. Don’t even need the 4th rounder. A goalie would obviously be nice, but writing off CC because of his size is ridiculous.

LMAO, I suppose that would mean that the Devils would have to include a 5th and Jack Hughes to get the 1st pick! Good to know.
