The only way the rangers trade laf is for a young 1/2C. Not a bunch of meh.
Philly will keep the better, younger Ellis.
Arizona will keep the second and get other players to reach cap floor that don't make full cap hit salary.
Seattle probably says no as well since they don't have alot of centre depth.

They definitely would all say no to those trades.

All teams say no. Really horrible trades for Arizona and Seattle. Rangers need to shred cap, not take on the very middling Dvorak

Only reason Philly would take that is if Ellis is done or doesn’t want to play in Philly… which if the former, Habs shouldn’t do the move

I agree AZ would never give a 2nd for Weber's contract. However, no other contract in the league is built like his. Money paid/cap hit ratio is the best out there.

I think the best move for MTL would be to trade Weber to AZ with one of Armia or Hoffman, for future considerations.

I think Montreal would be smart to just give it up, then they save actual money. There are other players Arizona could pick up that make less than their cap hits. JVR, bailey, and hagelin are a few from teams that would want to shed them. I don't think Arizona would be interested in the other two without compensation.

Like i said, no other contract are built like Weber's. 6M in money owed for 31.5M cap hit for the next 4 years.

If you add Hoffman's contract, that's still 16M for 40.5M cap hit. AZ would be all over that. They won't find anything better in term of saving money.

I know they could get mid rounders to take another contract instead, but i don't think AZ owners priority is drafting B prospects right now.

Giving Arizona Weber and Mailloux might get us our second round pick back. It’s better than not singing Mailloux and having him reenter the draft.

Youre close on the rangers trade. Just remove all the non-Lafreniere players, the 2nd rd pick, swap out Floridas 1st for Montreal's 2022 1st, and throw in a rangers prospect of 2 (Lundqvist+) and its a fair deal!
