Lmao. Your values are horrendous and all over the place here..

                For the 49th overall pick you think it’s valued at a 2nd and a 4th, but for the 48th you think it’s valued at a 2nd and a 3rd, but the 51st is a 2nd and a 5th..

There’s not that much difference between 4 spots

Each draft pick becomes less valuable the farther down you go in the draft.

Once you get past the second round, the odds that a draft pick plays in the NHL become rather slim.

This article from dobber prospects explains how that is true:

                https://dobberprospects.com/2020/05/16/nhl-draft-pick-probabilities/

Also, teams seem to be all over the place on placing a value on each pick and then trading them on Day 2 of the draft.

That's why I made rough estimates.

I explicitly said so in the description.

If you think my values are "horrendous", then tell me what would your values be.

When you try and fail to explain yourself, I hope your feelings don't get hurt sarcasm

I’m not disagreeing with the fact that picks becomes less valuable the further down the board - obviously that’s true.

But when you say the 49th overall pick you think it’s valued at a 2nd and a 4th but the 48th is valued at a 2nd and a 3rd, the difference in 1 SPOT isn’t that big. It would still be the same price for both picks, which is likely a 2nd and a 3rd.

That’s what’s horrendous. & if that hurts your feelings sorry but the truth hurts. That’s awful.

Edit: you’re essentially saying that the 48th pick is worth the 57th and the 87th pick, but the 49th spot which is virtually the same value is worth that same 57th pick and instead of the 87th you drop down 16 spots (which is half the round) - that’s absolutely insane.

                1. Sometimes, there comes a point in the draft where there's a drop-off in value.

It could happen if every team is trying to trade up for the 48th pick to get a decent prospect.

And then once the 49th pick happens, the only prospects left are half-decent.

I don't know where that might happen because every draft is different and teams assign different values to the same prospects.

                2. You say the difference between 48th and 49th overall isn't that big.

                Well ...

Neither is the difference between 87th and 103rd.

If a team wants a certain prospect at 87th, it's possible he'll still be available at 103rd.

The fact that you're whining about it as if it's going to change a team's fortunes is laughable.

                3. I make ACGM posts for my own amusement and because it elicits the interest of like-minded hockey fans.

It's pretty clear you take such an interest in my posts.

Otherwise, you wouldn't still be commenting.

                4. Interestingly, you still haven't explained how you would assign a value to each draft pick.

                Maybe it's because you can't.

                Pity.
