They're just the middle man to swap the pick briefcase and the cage with Laf inside.

Rangers tell Gorton they still don't like him and hang up. Lafreniere would cost 1st plus. The Rangers MIGHT do the 2022 1st over all for Lafreniere, not a very late 1st. There would definitely have to be more added to it

No I don't obviously, but this is where we use common sense. The Panthers have few years now where they will win the Atlantic or be pretty close. So let's say their pick will be 20 or more. I'm thinking 25 or more actually. Next year if you can assure 10 or less then I will stay on the phone for a bit. Other than that it will be a 1st plus

No chance Rangers accept this, but at the same time Montreal have no need to overpay for an unproven former 1st overall Quebecois. Not saying he doesn't have loads of potential, but the Rangers are always gonna ask for way to much in a Laf trade for it to make sense for Montreal.

Lafrenière is a former first overall draft have a good potential and is value would be a high first round pick draft for sure. And while he's not proven this year's is best we can look of guys like Jack Hughes who haven't shine in is first season but after 2 or 3 have explode into there real potential.

But at same time there no need for MTL to overpay a player even if he's good for only fact that he's québécois. Knowing he's an able forward to produce at pace of 70 to 80 pts I may do the trade cause you get a Elite / Franchise french player to add on your lineups.

Even that, you need to ask yourself which player would be more beneficial for the teams in Lafrenière or Wright / Slafkovsky / Cooley that MTL could draft as there 1 overall pick.
