Even at 2.5mil retained, Ottawa is getting a drastically worse contract AND giving up one of their top prospects and a 2nd. This is not close. I don't think there's a deal where Karlsson returning makes any sense, because even at 50% retained (which is functionally impossible in a cap league) , having Karlsson at 5.57mil til 2027 is not a good use of that money long term for this team.

I agree. Many "experts" say we'll draft a defenseman. I prefer Lekkerimaki or Gauthier.

Some Sens fans disagree with you. Before his injury this year he had 26 pts in 32 games and was playing the best since the trade.

ottawa traded him at the right time ..he is not the same Ek65 that won the norris.....the package ottawa got for karlsson...is proven to help them alot
