Just need a top 6 center…maybe 2. The real problem is they are not easy to come by.

A 5 million dollar backup goalie with a NMC also is going to be a problem.

I think they almost have to trade Pasta. Signing him to a big deal at 9 million or so is a bad idea

I may be in the minority but i think of it differently. 5.9 for two goalies that played well is good - and i believe that Ullmark's NMC is done after this year when Swayman's will be up, so they can be flexible if need be. Ullmark also was not bad at all this year and played/won some big games down the stretch.

Signing a 45-50 goal scorer to a $9M AAV deal is bad idea, heard it first here.

When you don’t have a centre yes it’s a bad idea

He has sucked in the playoffs for a long time now.

So obviously you think he sucked this year. 7GP 3G 3A.
So he sucked in 20-21 playoffs? 11GP 7G 8A
So he sucked in 19-20 playoffs? 10GP 3G 7A
He sucked in the run to the Cup finals? 24GP 9G 10A
17-18 playoffs? That was 4 years ago. 12GP 6G 14A He sucked that year?
16-17 playoffs, his first playoff series. 6GP 2G 2A

Obviously I don't agree with you but you are entitled to your opinion. Knowing what's coming I will end what I am saying on this subject by noting that Jake DeBrusk was a -7 as part of his 2G 2A 21-22 playoff.

If all you’re going to do is look at points, I’m not even sure why you’re watching the game. Good for him for smacking in a couple powerplay goals. He sucked in this series.

DeBrusk probably gets his wish (finally) and you clear out his $4M, with hopefully only an ELC & futures coming back.

Foligno is an easy buyout - saves $1.9M this coming season with only a $933K penalty in 2023-24.

You can easily find a taker for one of Reilly or Forbort, since you already have 4 quality LD signed.

Bam, there's another $8.9M in cap available. Not ideal, but you can easily get back Bergeron (if he's open to it) or sign/trade for a quality 1C with that kind of space.
