          While I think Del Zotto retires before waiving considering he played just as much in the AHL as the NHL. But if you are just giving him away with 1yr left and a cap hit of $2M why not.

          Imagine Buf rejects trade (which they would) and we’d be stuck with Mrazek and Murray for two more seasons on the payroll. Still gotta pay them on LTIR…. Dorian would be fired quickly.

          I’d also rather keep Pinto for few years with a decent economic bridge deal.

          So too much risk and cost for a soft player in Nylander IMO.

          Detroit passes, We can get a better player then Del Zotto.

          Buffalo passes as well.

          Toronto doesn't make that trade, it's a downgrade doesn't benefit them one iota.
