Unsigned RFA don’t have a ton of value. I think the Fiala trade will be a lot like the Reinhart trade.

I’d be okay with Formenton + 2023 1st with protection too. I think that’s close to fair . Fiala is better than Reinhart

With all due respect, no gm is waiting three drafts to get 1st round pick. They can trade him elsewhere especially with judd brackett as lead draft

What team has the assets and can afford Fiala's extension? Don't say LA (We aren't interested)
In all honesty I can't think of a good trade partner for Fiala or Dumba where Minnesota will be on the winning side of the trade.

New Jersey, and islanders. Others will be interested also. Judd brackett is one of the best in the business a and Guerin isn't going to trade fiala and wait three draft to get 1st round pick. It's so clear they are targeting a particular player in this upcoming draft with the picks they kept and got

NJ isn't giving up 2OA for Fiala and I doubt Islanders will part with 13OA as they are too old and can't afford both Fiala's and Barzal's extensions.

It was just reported thus morning lou is interested in fiala by their media and would part with 13th pick for fiala .

Don't worry, Vegas will trade for Fiala... I predicted long before they even showed any interest in Eichel that that's where he would end up. Next season Fiala will be their next shiny new toy lol

Don’t think the Sabres are in position to be trading for a rental
But if all u want for Dumba is a couple 2nds, then someone will

Are you sure about that, Lou never tips his hand. I read an article saying that Minn and NYI make logical trade partners but it didn't come out of Lou's mouth

Exactly
besides Dumba has a M-NTC which would probably mean the Sabres are probably one of the 10 teams so he would have to waive it

I’d consider trading pick 16 for Fiala
Of course I’d rather do the FLA pick + if possible
Throw in Portillo or R.Johnson even
I think both those prospects have 1st round value, & it would be smart to trade them sooner than later
Could even see Mitts being available & making sense for them

I’ve liked Fiala since he was in Nashville
Thought they were crazy to give him up
And i think he’d be a great fit in our lineup as well

On Fiala, What if he hits FA? An offer sheet would only cost 1st,2nd,3rd I think the player is valuable but as an RFA why over pay to acquire when you could offer him a 1yr offer sheet and then work out an extension after?

Buffalo has the assets and the cap space, if the owner is not pinching pennies again next season.

Being it would be an off season trade it's easy to shed cap

Trade-Dadonov, Martinez and Lehner
Let Smith walk

That's 20mil right there

A combo of these pieces could/should potentially be available:
Mittelstadt, Olofsson, FLA 1st, and prospects Portillo & R.Johnson

Other pieces could be available as well, but those are the obvious ones of value that we might logically be willing to part with
