Description
After listening to GMBM's presser today, it seems like a certainty that Eller gets moved to give McMichael full-time duties at center. Obviously so much hinges on 19's health so if he were to be moved to LTIR, a lot of other options would be on the table. Thank you Lars for 2018, you'll never need to buy a drink down in DC.

I've watched John Carlson since his first NHL game and he might be the most frustrating D-man to watch in the entire league. He's got a big body, a booming shot, great playmaking but looks like he doesn't give a care in the world on the defensive end. His contract is next to impossible to move but if I were GMBM, I would test the market to see what you can get, if anything. Doubt it happens considering management/coaches love him and he eats so many minutes. Perhaps finding a different partner other than Fehervary can help 74.

Nichushkin has been one of the most underrated players in the league the past few years. His defensive metrics, his speed, his size are all things any team would love. How much of his offensive outburst is because he is on the Av's? Tough to tell but I can't think of a better UFA option. Caps love their Russians after all.

Not sure my proposed Gibson trade even moves the needle but curious to hear from Ducks fans on what they think a realistic return is for him considering he hasn't been "elite" in a few years. If the Ducks are really looking at a full rebuild, draft capital, a young goalie and some prospects, namely Iorio who had a fantastic year in the WHL, should at least start the conversation?

An injection of youth is long overdue for this team and can definitely see Lucas Johansen, who had by all accounts a really strong year down in Hershey, a real shot at bottom pair minutes.

2018 seems like a lifetime ago.....

That is imo a very competitive offer for gibson and would be a great offseason. Agree with you on carlson, but for as frustrating as he is their is no easy way to replace what he gives you.

I think the value Gibson holds to the Ducks is more than any team is willing to pay. They're going to ask for what he's worth when he's been at his best, every team will be offering what he's worth based on the last two years

I like Gibson but he has 3 straight seasons of bad stats. Maybe just go after Husso and save the assets. Him and Sammy would be a great tandem.

I think that the offer for Gibson is fair but I just don't see us moving him. Solving the goalie question for five years has an intangible value that's hard to quantify.

Seriously. Three straight below average seasons, outplayed by Stolarz the last two and Miller the year before that, and he's got 5 more years at 6.4M. I feel like everyone's just pretending the last three years didn't happen for some reason? What am I missing? Why would a team pay through the nose for him instead of signing Kuemper, Husso, or Campbell?

Doubt we go for Husso since I can't remember the last Finn who played for WSH lol. I imagine Kuemper remaining in COL. Campbell is someone I'd be interested in as well just worried that we would have to pony up $ and term in a bidding war.
