My Toronto Take

Created by: Lancebmx
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2022
Published: May 16, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Probably super unlikely but I think this team is better than last year. I tried to target players with low cap hits with good upside.

Zacha is getting $3M at least. His QO is over $2.5M i'm pretty sure, why would he bother signing for 50% less?

Devils aren't trading Sieg and Zacha is getting more money than that. He has a 3m QO.

I weirdly don't hate it, but you have to take out that 2nd round pick (or at least downgrade it). We downgrade on Mayfield and Varlamov, but we get Robertson and a 1st.

Understandable, trying to get the best value for the team. I feel Holl could be extended for cheap or traded at the deadline of Wilde is ready, there is some more value for Isles.

To me, Wilde is a non-prospect at this point. But if Holl plays somewhat sheltered third-pairing minutes that's fine with me.

I think he's a good third pairing guy, especially on a note defensive roll

Isles move is just not worth it for them to make. Holl is a replacement level player more or less, so not a huge value add there. Mrazek has been discussed to death here and everyone has agreed he has negative value. Robertson is an intriguing prospect but he's a 5'9" guy who has been injured both of the past 2 seasons so it's hard not to wonder if he's going be able to stay healthy long-term. Moving from the late 2nd to a pick around #20 is not terrible, but I don't think that plus a prospect with question marks is enough to give up two of the Islanders' most tradeable assets.

Yeah Robertson could possibly be changed out to maybe voit or something. I kind of forgot about his injuries and that second could possibly be swapped for a third. I don't think Mrazek is a huge dump but I would like to say that the value of Holl is the payment for taking him. So basically it would be a good prospect and a first for Varlamov, Mayfield and a mid third we will say.
