I’d consider it.

But it really doesn’t do anything for the right now.

Toronto is trying to win. This doesn’t improve the team now.

The habs are not going to do that trade. May have drafted a Gem in the 5th round in Roy, i dont think habs are going to move 3 solid assets plus two seconds for Nylander. He had a great year but only signed for 3 more season and even with such a trade the habs are still atleast 2-3 years from competing in the atlantic so makes very little sense.

that would be a steal for the habs. can;t see leafs doing it if the best piece is a late 1st in a meh draft.

in what world is that a steal? lol habs have no interest in that deal giving the current state they are in.

i think hughes would be interested. he's looking for a retool and nylander is 26. it's like the leafs offering a 1st, 2x2nds, niemela, steeves, and kerfoot for suzuki

except its not. Suzuki is 4 years younger and plays center and plays on our top PP and PK unit.

Nylander is solid offensively, but roy just lead the Q in scoring as an 18 year old and has a whole lot of upside Norlinder should be slotting into the habs d rotation next season and this years draft may not be the deepest but theres still plenty of value to be had in the late first. I get that Nylander would cost a decent amount in a trade, but that package is not a steal for the habs if anything its a bit more then they would probably be willing to give it.

it's a steal for the habs. drouin has a ton of question marks. roy and norlinder are both ok prospects but nothing that you build a deal around. and some picks in the 30-60 range. it's just a bunch of b- pieces. a deal should include the 1st and guhle or barron as a starting point. maybe add a roster player the leafs could use like evans

I mean more than fair for the leafs to ask for that but that reinforces why this nylander trade would be a no go from the beginning. The 1st and Ghule/barron are both more valuable to MTL at this point then Nylander would be. Habs could certainly use a winger that can produce near a point per game but i think they will remain patient and see if they have that in Farrell or Roy. Theres other factors too i know Hughes has said its a retool but if Price ends up calling it a career due too his injury then i think they will be much more patient and allow some of these "ok" prospect time to develop into potential gems.

I think Nylander is a key piece in Toronto and theres other players they would probably be looking to move before him as they try and find answers.
