I think you could save your money on PK and Dzingel. You have Barre Boulet in the AHL who can play in the top six. Use that money to sign Rutta instead.

If im tampa id prefer PK and Dzingel over ABB and Rutta.

Pk you can probably get cheap, and rutta might cost 1.5-2m. Pk has that huge upside that tampa has been good at getting out of older dmen. Dzingel is a very very good defensive forward and ABB is kinda a AAAA player at this point

I just dont see PK taking that much of a pay cut. But I agree Tampa will find a vet for under a million and they will do great. I would argue that Tampa does not need anymore defensive forwards if you resign paul. The only person you are omitting from the current team is Palat. He will be missed for his secondary scoring more then anything. I still think he more the 50% chance he comes back. He is part of the core.

Id lean just bringing Rutta back, would imagine that a slight pay cut there would be feasible as he's been jumped by Foote and Bogo in the lineup. Also I don't know if Paul would be willing to go for a 4 year deal at that cap hit, i think it would have to either be one or two years, which would allow him to get a bigger deal after. but would love it if so.

Also, instead of bringing in Dzingel, I think they will leave that slot open and allow Fortier and the other defense-first prospects to compete for it, maybe keep Nash around too, under the assumption that JBB will bring in another third liner on a value contract at next year's trade deadline

If they keep Palat (and especially if they retain paul)Paul, I would think sergachev or McDonagh go
