No interest in trading Wood or acquiring Kapanen. Possibly interested in one of your dmen tho. What would u want from NJ for Dumolin or Pettersson

Has he been that bad this year? In sheltered minutes?

Not gonna give up Wood for Dumolin cuz he can walk after this coming year. I was thinking someone with an expiring contract on the Devils as well like Tatar and a 3rd for Dumolin. With Rust possibly walking, Tatar could step in and play in the top 6. Tom Fitzgerald isn't going to trade Wood bc we lack size already. At end of year, he discussed how important he is to the Devils

He's one of the worst defensemen in the league. Right there next to JJ and Dumo this season.

What's Dumolin's deal? Did he have a bad year this year?

I think Dumo would be solid in a middle pairing, or bottom pairing at this point in his career. He lost some foot speed, and his gap control has faltered a bit. A few years ago, he was able to get back when he made pinches/etc. but this season it just seemed like he couldn't get those first couple steps in. He still does a good job of limiting scoring chances/high dangers in general and he's solid on the PK but I think his dip in play earned him a demotion to the 2nd pairing, maybe 3rd (depending on what team he's playing on). I wouldn't have him as a complimentary player on the 1st pair anymore though.

Gotcha. That changes things then. I was hoping to have him next to Hamilton so I could shift Graves to the third pairing to play with Reilly Walsh, one of our top d prospects whose more offensive minded

Don't get me wrong, I think coaches would do that based on name alone lol but I don't think it's the right move for him anymore. Plus, the Pens have a logjam at LD and I think based on his reputation he'd be the easiest to move with rep+contract. Matheson's contract is an albatross. Pettersson, I think he's solid but he might be able to be moved.
