We would have to take more cap back from Winnipeg. Buffalo laughs at us

Jets should take that, obviously the Pens would never do that though.

I hope they resign Letang - but its going to take 8-8.5mil over 4-5 years. Trade lower cap hit for more years. He's worth it and given his fitness he can play until he's 40.

Of course if he's set on moving on they it doesn't matter.

great point, team is is big trouble if he goes. To be honest I move any our D corp, other than him. Too small and get pushed around and can't clear in front of the net or box out. Really hope they look at someone like Zadorov, with some serious size. Marino, Pettersson even Mike M for could be moved, POJ can get pushed around as well as any of them. Tried hitching the wagon to small puck moving defense and struggle in our own end, that being said out played the Rangers badly in this series, should of, would of, could of, doesn't matter. At least they weren't dominated or even out played, not sure if that makes the sting less or more? Last 2 years really feel like a missed opportunity vs it's time to re-build this

After they tell him to go **** himself. Harsh but likely accurate.

Winnipeg isn't moving Stanley for two players they don't need or have the cap space for.

It’s probably true they don’t need those two, but how badly do they need Stanley? Maybe a three-way trade makes sense. I’m sure there’s a team that could use both of those players and provide Winnipeg with assets they want.

Sure, I guess it's possible. However, with the time and money the Jets have invested in developing Stanley, he's probably worth more to the Jets than they would get back in a trade.

Completely understandable. Although I’m not sure they play the same side, but Heinola should be getting more ice time next year. And it’s not the return for Stanley that you should be concerned about in this case, but the return you could get for Kapanen and Pettersson. While I cannot think of a team off the top of my head that specifically wants both of those players I’m sure there would be one, at least among the teams that have cap space and the need for veteran help. Teams coveted Kapanen a year ago, he couldn’t have dropped off that far in one year.

Kapanen had a pretty bad year this past season and was very disappointing according to Pittsburgh fans and beat reporters. Plus he's an RFA looking for a raise.

Pettersson is maybe a marginal improvement on Stanley, but costs 4 times as much and is a left shot which Winnipeg doesn't need.

The Jets also don't have the cap space to take on those players and if there is a market for them, I'm sure Pittsburgh would just move them themselves. Trading isn't always as easy as everyone thinks in a cap world. So, there's no reason for the Jets to jeopardize their own cap situation.
