Trade Call goes something like this.

Boston: We really like Brock Nelson.

NYI: Thanks we do too.

Boston: So what would it take —

Exactly there RW and LD is very weak
This fixs it while JGP can step up into the 2C role and Raty is already ready for the 3c/4c role and cizakas fills the other one

They need more top 6 players, not trade their best forward last year for a 3rd liner, a bottom pair d-man and then promote a 3C and a prospect who isn’t ready

Raty is ready for one and JGP is a 2c playing 3c which is diffrent then him being a 3c
Again Cizakas is a 3c too playing 4c

Raty isn’t ready yet. He needs a year down in the A. JGP and Cizikas aren’t asked to be that here, they’re asked to be shutdown centers, promoting them takes away from their strength

Pageau is the center who is on the oughts. Cizikas next in line. None of Barzal, Nelson or Raty are even being thought of being moved. Every trade call is immediately turned down

It’s not that he’s untouchable. It’s that you have to offer fair value and you basically offered us a bag of Sh*t.

No one is gonna give fair value for Nelson so I don’t see a trade happening.

John Beecher, Fabian Lysell and a 1st is probably what it would take for Lou to move him. I am NOT saying that’s a good deal for Boston. Just stating my opinion on what Lou would need to make that kind of move.

Feel free to steal my line lmao. I usually use it on Toronto fans tho lol. Usually whenever they try and convince Isles fans we would be lucky to have Jake Muzzin Lmao.

Just a thought here but If Raty lives up to his potential then the Isles can be contenders for the next decade. Might be easier to start moving veteran pieces to start building around the younger guys (Barzal, Raty, Holmstrom and Dobson). Don’t have to worry about Pelech and Pulock since they are aging like Benjamin Button.

i think that we are best off keeping Nelson out to his term, extending Barzal to 8 years and giving Raty 9 games and then AHL. Then we move Raty to 2nd line minutes and play Nelson at wing. Or we run them as a 1-2-3 and just dont re-sign Nelson if he is too expensive/not as productive (in 3 years so not a problem for now)

Top 4 dman, 2nd line RW and a mid first is pretty good
Definitely not a bag of crap at least

Exactly. Obviously my opinion would change if the Isles got Johnny G. In that case I would probably just try and package Beauvillier and Bailey for a defenseman. It’s a lot of salary for sure, but someone like Seattle could make it work. Otherwise I would just keep who they have for the soul reason that they aren’t going to be competing anyway and should save their draft picks.

No it isn’t because Reilly isn’t a top four d man and Craig Smith isn’t a second line right wing. If you were offering Beecher and/or Lysell this is a different convo. But your not.

I get that fans are trying to propose “hockey trades,” but what you really see all over this website and Twitter are very bad trades where someone throws a pick in and declares the deal “fair.” That’s not how this works.

IK a blues defenseman who would fit in with the Isles lmao. I’d rather try and sign Leddy instead of trading for Reilly. IK the analytics are terrible, but it seems like Leddy is helping the blues a lot so far.

That’s fair mostly I try and get value right and give food for though trades ig
I though Nelson would be a great replacement and a out of the box idea

I don’t think you trade guys just to rebuild if you don’t get fair value. I think it’s very bad for your organizational culture. If you don’t have a decent culture it’s much harder to develop your players.
