I'm thinking that all teams decline. EDM most definitely declines.

I think a team would be willing to do the mrazic deal but otherwise I think these are all favoured towards the leafs

EDM can't afford Jesse. They even said Kane was their priority. Now they get 2 a middle 6 player off a 50 point season and top 6 dman. Fair value for player still needing a contract.

As for Samsonov he had a below .900 sv% and Washington said they want a veteran goalie to pair with either vaneck or smasonov. Vance was the better goalie hence why samsonov was traded.

EDM can't afford JP, but can take on $5.5M in cap space without shedding any?

they fill 2 roster spots for 5.5 million. isn't that smarter than paying that for 1 winger

See I would agree that they are in a cap crunch, but I think that they are in enough of a position that they could move off less important players like ryan and Kassian or could get a better haul for him or they could bridge him

They already have three RD locked up for next year. Holl isn't really filling a void.

I'm sure EDM values JP on a long term basis higher than filling two roster spots for one year.

Yea but Evander Kane, Kailer Yammamoto, a new goalie and more are needed. Fill 2 voids with Holl and Kerfoot with the same money you’re gonna pay Jesse

If that’s the case why prioritize Kane or Yammamoto over JP?

I can't speak to Holland's words/intentions. It's just my opinion that at GM would prioritize locking up their young talent than trading said talent for two pending UFAs.

I wouldn't prioritize Kane over JP, but that's just me.

He already told you RD isn't a "void" for Edmonton. And since when did the Oilers need a new goalie?

You've completely made up that narrative. Oilers "can't afford" JP at 4m, but have no problem bringing in Kerfoot at 3.5m? Makes sense.
