Never thought Sweeney could get Zboril signed. That’s a nice piece of business he got done.

Now, any interesting offers out there for pastrnak or grzelcyk. I think both are ideally suited to shift the bruins a little bit younger, and re-tool on the fly. (Not necessarily jersey, all reasonable offers appreciated).

Hold up, you're good with moving Pastrnak?

Leafs have zero need for pastrnak but id give up a hell of a lot for him and shift nylander to LW.
basically a "what do you want that isnt matthews or marner" kind of thing

Pastrnak - Maybe the 2nd choice in the upcoming draft or Mercer. Either way it gets a young Center to retool around.

Grzelcyk - Devils would probably not be a fit. Islanders maybe? Ducks? Red Wings?

Definitely. I would be openly shopping, Sweeney should be at the very least quietly listening.

Ya i was just being lazy. This goes for the league, not just the devils.

2nd overall for pastrnak would work for me.

pasta would be a great add for any contender. off the top of my head i think NYR has a decent bit of cap space, so maybe something involving lafreniere and/or kakko would make their top six lethal

Zero interest in kakko.
Lafreniere just isn’t a fit. Needs to be a center.

in the case of a centre then maybe a team like SEA could be a fit in a deal involving beniers

Is this assuming Bergeron doesn't come back or in general?

I’d give my right nut for Pasta.

Something to build around Lucius and Heinola? I know it would likely take Perfetti.

I’d offer Heinola + Lucius and 2022 1st (14 OA) but that gets beat imo.

Why would seattle trade futures for pastrnak? That seems like a horrible fit for SEA.

No, I’m assuming bergeron is coming back. Regardless though.

I think pastrnak is a passenger at 5 on 5 in any sort of tight checking game.

If Bergeron comes back, Pasta won't be traded so that is moot. Still think Gryz could get moved. If not him than Reilly.

Well I’m glad you have a crystal ball, but I don’t. I think it’s pretty short sighted to emphatically state that a guy entering the last year of his contract won’t be moved.

Rangers age gonna be tight against the cap next season - they've got ~$7.3M in cap space and that's before signing their RFAs like Blais & Kakko. If they add Pasta, they're gonna have to go really cheap in their bottom 6 and with their backup goaltender. I don't think they're a good potential spot.

Not saying they shouldn't consider it. But if Bergeron comes back, they're going to try to compete for a cup. Trading Pasta away only hurts them unless they can bring in a guy who could potentially score 30 plus goals right now.
If Bergeron doesn't come back, then Boston should openly shop Pasta.

Really surprising to see Zboril staying in Boston, I liked him as a potential pickup for the Islanders.

If I'm Mike Reilly and Derek Forbort today, I am worriedly checking my lease and seeing what the penalty for ending it early is.

you’re probably right but there’s the off chance francis miraculously decides to go the contending route.
not sure which other contending teams you might get a good offer from though

So if you scroll up a bit, my point was that i think pastrnak is a passenger at 5 on 5. I think they can move him, get a future (potentially one that can play immediately), and pick up someone in free agency that will replace 80% of what pastrnak brings in the postseason.

I don’t think theres a contending route for seattle to take.

Forborts safe. Reilly and Grzelcyk are not.

i told you man. gut feeling with zero basis but im very happy the bruins got zboril locked up for 2 years. i can see the moves starting to line up. im a very big grz advocate hes analytics are typically very very good, but hes not a good partner for carlo. and he just seems to be exploited the most when hes with mcavoy. doesnt make him not useful. That season long injury either came back at the worst possible time and thats why he was a scratch... or he just isnt a fit with the team after getting lindholm.

as an aside i think pastrnak is fine, not bringing back bergy and then sending pasta out. he does disappear when the physicallity ramps up which is unfortunate. but hes still a pp weapon and i think as unfair as it is to debrusk, pastrnak was trying to carry line 2 and then was double shifting at times. issue again was the depth scoring. your top 3 goal scorers had 50% of the scoring production and 3 of the goals came on the pp. 7 games 20 goals 6 of those are pp goals. so they averaged 2 non pp goals a game. thats really not going to win you games in the playoffs.

to put it into perspective: team goals for all situations the bruins were tied 9th out of 16 with florida who played 1 less game you had 1 more than washington again in 1 less game so they probably pass you in a 7th game situation. youre in there with LA, minny, dallas, and calgary (shocking how low scoring that series was), and nashville. just not enough depth scoring again.

theyll keep forbort around simply for his pk ability. i think bruce had enough of reilly down the stretch this year and is truly the odd man out. although they still need a 2c so if you think zboril can replace grz production wise.... why not trade both guys and bring back a legit 2c.
