Could be wrong, but i think the Sabres are looking for a more established Vet to be the “1a” guy & mentor our young goalies as they come up & get their chances,
and Vanecek is more of a “1b” to this point

If we were to be interested in him, i don’t see us giving up a high 2nd for him- as again, he’s the “1b” type & i wouldn’t see us having that high of a value on that spot in the lineup
