Not for that return they don't. Honestly, drop Vilardi and Lizotte from the trade and LA still says no.

A guy who was a ppg on a 6 million dollar deal?

La does not have room for all their prospects as we have seen and due to that 2 or more out of the 6 of them will be busts(a player just can't develop if he can't play) why not shell a couple of them out for an offensive star

Nylander has 80 points in like 79 games on a 6 million dollar deal. Vilardi won't have any room to develop with that center core being clogged up and kupari doesn't have any room at all. Lizzote sure you could drop but he is only taking a role that could be used for turocette, byfield or kaliyev.

Maybe the trade itself is an overpayment but the idea of La needing to shed some of their prospects for win now players on that left side d or wingers can't be denied, mind as well get some value before a couple of them are forced to become busts

I think Nylander is good fit for LA. And it works for the Leafs to get futures, since the Leafs need cap space.
But I Nylander's trade value is that high...when no cap is returned to the Leafs.....not nearly that high. Maybe one of those prospects and third would be the upper limit.

Same thing I told the other guy

Is there an issue with the deal yeah sure there is but the idea of La shedding some prospects can't be denied

They have no room for any of them as we have seen and a couple of them will become busts just due to not getting playing time which sucks to see

A different deal would be better but you aren't gonna get anything by having these guys as healthy scratches

valid point. i've just watched the canucks f*ck up their rebuild because of the bubble "playoffs" a few years ago. don't want to see the kings make that same mistake.

The Kings traded Cernak because they had too many defensive prospects and he was the bottom of the food chain at the time. How well did that work out for them?

The Kings aren't in a hurry. This year was considered a transition year, and they made it significantly farther than anyone (themselves included) expected them to.

No one knows which prospects will ultimately work out and which ones will end up as busts. The best way to ensure that you get quality players out of your prospects is to have a lot of top quality prospects. The Kings are still high on both Kupari and Vilardi. Lizotte is the engine of their bottom six and is signed to an incredible value contract for the next couple years.

Two years from now, if the older of the Kings prospects are still struggling, then I'm sure the Kings are prepared to let them move on. Right now, they're still content to develop from within. If your proposal is the cost for Nylander, then the Kings want no part of it.

1.Cernak would not have become what he is in the kings system that is the whole point of getting value from them

2. In 2 years Vilardi will be 24,Kapari will be 24 and turrocette will be 23. At that point if they don't product they won't get much value from them

Don't agree on Cernak. Look at guys like Anderson, Spence, and Durzi. They were all under the radar guys that turned into quality NHL defensemen in the Kings system. There's no reason why they couldn't do the same with Cernak. He was never given the chance.

The reason why guys like Vilardi, Kupari, and Turcotte still have value is because there is still a high probability that they will turn into quality players. There's no reason for the Kings to dump them now. They're contender window hasn't even opened yet. I'd much rather take a chance on them and have them fail than dump them and watch them turn into quality players elsewhere.

Kevin Fiala has entered the chat. I think he makes a lot of sense for LA and LA has a lot of young, talented pieces.

Though I personally disagree with your take I understand where your coming from on if they turn out to be all top 6 guys

Big Willie Style should flourish as The Man. I could see him becoming an 90pt player on this roster
