No from Dallas. We've got legit needs to fill and contracts to get off the books. We don't need to give up two picks for Caleb Jones...

There is a chance both Strome and Kubalik will walk for nothing.

I'm interested to see what the Hawks do. I live in Chicago and I think the sense is the whole thing could get blown up to truly reset. Trade Toews and Kane? Seems crazy.

Things can change very quickly. I would be extremely surprised if they didn’t at least qualify both of them. Given their cap space and the seasons they had it would be negligent. I also thing there’s something to be said about not taking evaluations like this too seriously when they were right after the trade deadline when the team isn’t exactly planning its roster for next year and beyond.

Probably the most realistic. Can't see Chicago moving Toews, Kane, or DeBrincat this summer - just give them a chance to have a "farewell tour" or whatever they want to do in a season that wouldn't turn out much differently with whatever return you'd get for those guys.

Lot of big draft capital coming back, and reclamation projects in goal, perfect for a full rebuild. The only thing I'd question is if trading off Seth Jones' brother is worth the mid-round picks? Not sure how tight they were but couldn't help notice that he was basically acquired right before they got Seth and I think it'd be worth keeping Seth happy over the pair of mid-rounders here.

Absolutely anything can change but Scott Powers has better intel than you or I and is a trusted source. I've got no crystal ball, can't see into the future, but it was something that was reported and could happen is all.

Kapanen, 2nd for Strome

Strome - Kamanen does not equal a 2nd (much less conditional to a 1st.).

Pens counter Kapanen, 4th for Strome (no conditions)

I appreciate the effort and thinking. However I must disagree with that goaltending.

(That’s assuming you’ve tried to build a cup winning roster)

Kapanen is a throw in for this trade. If you believe that the pens will qualify him or trade him for anything of value then that’s cool… however from the POV of this post he might as well be a free agent signing for Chicago.

That being said any counter offer based on Kapanen coming back is not likely to interest Chicago.
