Winnipeg has no need to throw away picks on a press box guy.

Looks good to me, though you may have a bit of trouble convincing Washington to do that.

Played 20 minutes a night and isn't a minus but a fourth an fifth is too much for him apparently

I think they have to give up something but it might not be a first

Funny because you’re both clearly just ignorant users who only listen to Steve Simmons opinion based on nothing. If you actually looked at the stats you’d know that Holl isn’t the worst defenceman on the team. Go read the article written by Jon Steitzer and you’ll know how it really is:

He does not shy away from contact, he is great on the boards, he is the definition of a two way forward, on a great contract, fits Caps style of play, and will be the Caps next captain.

I do not want Nylander as he does not fit the Caps style of play and is terribly soft. Pure player - Nylander is more talented than Wilson. But that being said, there is a reason why all Leafs fans are posting trades getting rid of Nylander and receiving Wilson...lol

Regardless on the value of Wilson vs Nylander, there isn't much incentive for the Caps to make that switch. I love Nylander as a player but given our style of play, Wilson is essential.

I think the incentive is that Nylander would have been the 2nd highest scorer on the Caps this season and him being moved may light a fire under him. Can only really see him getting better in that area but it just won't be able to happen in TO at this point.

It’s all good guys I was just making a joke. I actually don’t dislike holl that much. Eats minutes and isn’t good nor bad.

He sort of reminds me of a worse DeMelo. For that reason jets say no as they need to keep a few spots up for grabs come next season.

Wilson, 1st for Nylander

Oh look, another "PLEASE give us Wilson for one-dimension Nylander, who we have been continually trying to trade on here for three years, plus give us some extra stuff to boot" TML AGM...

Trading Wilson would be a PR nightmare in DC, but for giggles, Caps counter with Wilson for Nylander (-$1.8M), 2nd, 2nd

Nylander would have been the 2nd highest scorer on the Caps and is a young player with great skill. But why would the Caps move a solidified two way forward who fits their style of play for someone who "might have a fire lit under him" AND give up a 1st round pick...As I said, Wilson fits the Caps style of play perfectly; Nylander is the opposite

I'd absolutely love getting Nylander in general. He'd add another element to our offense 5v5 that we don't have and would allow for a new look on the right side on the power play. But if the only way to get that deal done is by losing Wilson, I don't want it. He's so unique with everything he does that we can't afford to lose it. It was evident in the Florida series that we needed the extra oomph he brings. And adding a first rounder onto it is an absolute no. Maybe a Mantha deal could be worked out, but not Wilson.

They're going to trade Eller and trade or LTIR Hagelin, probably call up Snively and Alexeyev, after which they'll have 15.1M in cap space to add a top 6 winger, a #1 goalie, and sign one of Vanecek or Samsonov as the backup. If Backstrom goes on LTIR they add 2C to the shopping list, but their cap space goes up to 24.3M. The Caps will be big players in free agency, they don't need to trade core players (and especially not irreplaceable ones like Wilson) just to shake things up.

Fair enough, hope the Leafs can find someone like him or work out a deal that's good for both sides
