Leafs would take that probably to save cap, not that they absolutely love Toews

But Giordano and Spezza and Simmonds and Brodie.... TOR probably declines. I don't think Toews has much left at the cap hit he's at, even with 50% retained.

Toews May not be the offensive threat he once was, but he was also away from the game for a full year.

A healthy offseason, and a contract year for Toews.. the leafs would be silly not to take that trade. Essentially they upgrade Kerfoot and add cap space for the 20th-ish OA
