While it could possibly get done for a 2nd, a 1st is almost certainly enough to get the Sabres to say yes

And thanks for actually making a legit offer as opposed to the numerous ones from other Leafs fans thinking we’d actually pay for Mrazek

I think Buffalo would need the first to do that trade, so GM adams would take that
Texier is a nice player but they shouldn’t pass up the opportunity at Nylander, cbj would probably want that pick t10 protected though

I mean, it's one of the better Nylander deals I've seen for CBJ. The 2023 1st would need playoff protection.

I'm generally just not that big on Nylander trades for CBJ. He's only signed for two more years, albeit at a team friendly rate, and I don't have a ton of confidence on him staying. Plus, CBJ have too many Ws as it is - we need to make space so the youngins (Chinakhov, Marchenko, Johnson) can get quality experience, while also knowing that Olly, Jake, and Laine are locked in for T6 winger spots.

So moving Mrázek, Holl and Der-Arguchintsev off of the roster costs a late 1st round pick.
Depending on the value of a 22 yo center who has 49 pts in 122 NHL games (Texier) and a 21 yo center who has 38 pts in 60 AHL games (Der-Arguchintsev), putting the two trades together:
Mrázek, Holl, and Nylander to Buffalo for their 2023 first round pick and the best of the three second round picks in 2023?
IMO Texier has the less value than the Leafs 2022 first round pick (probably only the 2023 second round pick) then this would actually be more than what the Jackets are giving up for Willie.

Nylander wouldn’t fit into Columbus’s style, heck Laine and Voracek don’t exactly fit, they all play soft, none of them really dig in the corners or even go to the corners.
