Description
Just playing around here, so don't take it to seriously folks but basically I'm going for a two year 'rebuild' targeting young players and '23 picks.

This is not a great team, even with Jonny Hockey (who I didn't want to add) but I had the cap space so why not bring him home? Why he would want to is beyond me. Hoglander, Comtois and Kravstov are all reclamation projects but Hoglander (at least) I have high hopes for. The C's stay the same because Coots and Hayes are untradeable at this point and I'd be selling low on Frost/Laughton. Comtois joins Frost and Tippet to recreate some WJC fun. Meanwhile Kravstov could start literally anywhere in the organization.

The Petry trade was strictly because I don't trust Ellis' health and I can't leave Hart 'out to dry' again. That right side has all the veterans while adding both York and Zamula who seem ready injecting youth. Meanwhile Stecher/Staal are signed as insurance for when Ellis gets injured. Adding Lundqvist and Grans is exciting as they are they will inherit that right side eventually.

All this without even factoring in who they draft this year.

Anyway, they hope everyone comes back healthy and then you trade guys at the deadline targeting more picks in '23. Ellis, Petry, Atkinson, Hayes retaining some cash if possible... it's not like they're paying anyone but Jonny. Oh and I'd keep Coots. Hell of a second C when they get Bedard.

Anyway tell me how absurd all of this is or what you would change

I think Anh/Phi both like that trade
Rangers would possibly move on from Vitali but not Nils right now. Prob takes a 2nd for the rangers to accept similar to Lias Andersson to LAK a few seasons back
Kings pass on that one
MTL probably needs more with the RS on Petry even tho Desnoyers has been great in the Q
Van would need some type of protection on that pick (i.e t10) but that seems fair otherwise

Yea I agree. Small detail though, I don't see why the NYR would accept picks in 2024 especially when PHI has so many picks in 2023 and 2022.
Mtl would have serious trouble eating RS on Petry while taking Couturier. Probably take off the RS, IMO

Another Comtois trade that surely gets laughed at by Verbeek

Rumours were that the deal was Petry non retained for JVR non retained along with -and I quote- "a good prospect", this was before he started to put up points at his previous years pace so I have to guess that today's return should be equal or better. A 'good' prospect is pretty vague but I guess that Desnoyers has some appeal, now that Petry has started to be his old self I don't know if I'd try to ask for a better player.

swap Petry with Hoffman and I'd do it.

Petry imo will go for futures, not a "hockey" trade.

Absolutely no interest in trading 23-year-old Comtois, who is under team control for 4 more seasons, for 26-year-old Lindblom, who is more expensive and under team control for only 2 more years.
