Just a trade I keep thinking could be with some Dallas fans being unexcited but agreeing it could be.

"but this seems more like the crappy reality that we’re going to get since GM Jim Nill is probably not as concerned about the future as getting his contract extended after next season which probably means push for playoffs now."

Think you correct that Montreal will have to take cap back in any Petry trade, though Faska has NTC and the Habs may not be an attractive location now.

I think he's referring to how ridiculous Habs would look once Wright is up to speed and doing much better than Faksa

Gotcha! Yeah, I mean, I think taking anyone other than Wright at 1OA is a major bogey in the first place. The thing about it is that Habs fans will need to be patient, because Wright is likely a 35-40 pt MAX guy in year 1.

100% agree with you, bud. He'll blow up once we line him up with Bedard the following season wink

Hahaha, you can have Fantilli. My beloved Ducks deserve Bedard.

    Or, Michkov.

Not saying that Montreal is the greatest place to play but it isn't rare that we have European players loving Montreal because it reminds them home. Quebec hasn't Americanized as much as the rest of big cities so I don't know maybe this plus the snow for six months' give them some Ratatouille style PTSD.
For cap purpose I don't think the usual target (Khudobin) makes much sense for Dallas to trade cause he's low cost when burried for only one extra year.

I'm just trying to see what Montreal could look like if they go over Wright and select Slaf (The most rumoured). I don't think it'll happen but I like to see the "what if's".

This is more a Wright vs Slaf comparison than Faksa because I see this Dallas trade no matter who gets picked. I personally am taking Wright any day of the week but what if?

Oh, I wasn't criticizing you or anyone else, dude. All the lists are everywhere in their rankings and everyone's got their guy, but the only lists that matter are the 32 no one outside the league has access to. Also, I feel the same as you regarding Wright.
