Better idea: Pasta + Ullmark for 2OA and Blackwood?
Assuming Bergeron retires.

I'd imagine Hall would have NJD on his "no trade list" and Ullmark would still have his full NMC. So my guess is Hall and Ullmark say no.

The players would have to agree, but I don’t think Devils would do that.

Then Boston says no. They're trying to convince Bergeron to take another run at the cup. Trading away current roster pieces for futures doesn't help.

He could be. He'll be a UFA July 1st, but has said its Boston or retire.

I agree they wouldn't if Bergeron comes back. But if hedoesn't, I think it's a scenario where it could work in both teams's favor. Boston doesn't have much talent outside Lysell and need a center desperately.

Pasta could sign an extension. He might like it there and gets to play with an elite playmaker in Hughes.
