Thats not enough but not far off for Kane, in this context, but Chicago fans will act like its the end of the world. I think Ruotsalainen needs to be a better, young prospect like Rosen or Nadeau

Not a Sabres fan, but definitely like your FA signings. Malkin to Sabres probably has more legs than MAF, as I can see a PIT return there for lower cash, but both those moves would be clever by Buffalo. Kane I am not sold that gets it done but its not out in left field

As a Chicago fan, I think the Kane trade here is a good starting point. If I'm the hawks, not sure I'm overly interested in Ruotsalainen. I'd be more interested in a player with top-6 potential in who is looking to make the NHL in the next few years. That or throw in another second-rounder, or upgrade the second to a first.

That being said, not sure Kane would waive to go to Buffalo.

This team still isn’t a Cup contender,
and then Kane & Malkin & Fleury could all walk & we’d be right back to where we are now- except with less assets to make moves

Doesn’t seem smart to me

Okay offer for Kane, probably should swap Ruotsalinen for a better prospect, but regardless I just don't think Kane is leaving. Seems pretty comitted to wanting to be apart of the rebuilding process and my guess is he wants to chase down Mikita for the all time franchise points leader. More cups are always great but Kane can do more for his legacy staying in CHI imo
