Description

Devils add a top 4 dman in Orlov which allows Graves to slide down with Walsh as he gets acclimated to the NHL. By adding Campbell and Vanecek, the Devils instantly go from having arguably the worst goaltending in the league this past year to one of the best duos in the league. Up front, the Devils add one of the best forwards of all time to help guide the youngsters and trade away players like Johnsson and Tatar to afford Malkin. If they keep the 2OA pick, signing Malking gives that prospect ample time to develop(most likely Juraj Slafkovský). Sharangovich being on the 3rd line shows you the depth that this team truly possesses. Also fairly comfortable with the cap space still remaining going into the season. With 5.3 million in cap space, the Devils could add a piece if they desired at the TDL. This team would have a very good shot at grabbing a Wild Card spot at the very least

I don't foresee Orlov getting dealt right now. I think he's pretty under appreciated for everything he does defensively and to jumpstart transition offense and the Caps would rather hold onto him for another run. If things don't look good by the deadline, maybe things can get shaken up

Caps definitely pass. Orlov is their best 2 way defensemen.
