Ottawa isn't a Scheifele away from doing anything. They need to stay the course.

It is far more likely Scheifele is traded to a contender if he its moved.

I think Scheifele would be a disaster for Ottawa, but in particular trading an unprotected 1st in 2023 is an immediate no outside of like 5 players in the league. Even if it ends up being like a 4% chance, that's way too big a risk of giving up Bedard.

That's a very QUICK NO

I wouldn't give up that kinda package for many players

2023 1st round pick (OTT) : unprotected is a no go.
Formenton, Alex : 22 y/o, elite speed, scored 18 ES/PK goals in his rookie season, already pretty good defensively with a mean streak. Worth at least a mid 1st round pick to the Sens
Thomson, Lassi : 1st round pick in 2019, it wasn't clear why for a while but since he came over to NA, we understood why they were high on him, worth another 1st round pick
Søgaard, Mads : clear GOALIE OF THE FUTURE. They were already very high on him when they MOVED UP to select him in the early 2nd round. His stock has gone up, worth another 1st round pick
2022 2nd round pick (TBL)

I'm not giving up 4 first round picks and a 2nd for Scheifele lol

Not only that, Scheifele is 29 years old now, is not really good defensively and the Sens don't need a CENTER, they need a WINGER.

Scheifele is on a great contract but only 2 years left. What happens in 2 years?
