Give me one good reason why the Canes should do that. He was just inked to 8 years, he will be taking the Canes 2C role when Trocheck leaves. He is Finnish, and Carolina is building a team Finland of their own. And we haven’t even started talking about how bad a trade that is. Hirvonen is a pretty good prospect, 24OA won’t be anything that grand, and Kerfoot would be a semi decent Nino replacement if Nino actually walks, which would be unlikely. I don’t think that really is enough for the Canes to give up 8 years of their future 2C.

For that package, Anaheim will give you Roman Durny or Olle Eriksson Ek.

i guess they do it if they really want to keep Trocheck. I got the sense that people are down on Kotkaniemi. I have no idea, just putting it out into the ether

When Waddell made the Canes a cap team, he knew that along the way certain players would price themselves out. The Canes would love to keep Trocheck, but the Canes won’t be able to afford him. That is why KK was brought in, and that is why the Canes are all in this year.

It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to trade someone you just inked to 8 years just to resign someone for maybe 5 years. It’s illogical and stupid.

i guarantee EDM would make that trade right now if they could. a fourth liner for a goalie better than what they have and a D that would be on their top pair

You're clearly delusional. Nothing could be further from the truth.
