I'd take that for Philly but since management wants to contend they wouldn't retain on a 3 year deal

You’re gonna have to pay the Sabres (or anyone) to take Mrazek- he’s garbage

I assumed with the Giroux trade they had accepted a rebuild.

No clue what Muzzins value is, he had a rough year but was hurt throughout the year. Was great in the playoffs when in better shape and playing with the right partner. Also this is the first bad year we've seen out of him. Also important to take into account that teams don't always value players properly. Muzzin is a physical experienced defenseman which is often overvalued. A team with an old school coach, cap space, and a need for his type of ability on the back end might pay a price for him. No clue though just in theory. It seems like the best fit for him but the point is more that he gets traded to create space, not where he gets traded or what for.

For a team desperate for any legit goaltending I would think the Sabres would send a 6th or 7th for his upside and the need to hit the cap floor for the next couple years. If it doesn't work out there is no harm done.

Problem is- Mrazek is not “legit goaltending”
He was terrible
We shelled him ourselves multiple times

It would make much more sense to go after a better UFA- and there’s plenty
Even if we have to overpay to get one to come here, so what?
As you point out, we need to hit the Cap floor anyways

So, for example:
Pay Holtby $5mil per year
Or
Pay assets to get Mrazek

It’s a very, very easy decision to laugh at the idea we’d pay anything for Mrazek
You’re gonna have to pay a team to take him at this point
Hell, everyone passed on him for free already when he went on waivers

Buffalo could sign a vet UFA for 2M less or trade for a goalie who has a sv % higher then .888 for 3rd
Mrazek was on waivers and passed right though. Nobody wanted him for free.
