If Nill is Gone

Created by: ItsTheCracken
Team: 2022-23 Dallas Stars
Initial Creation Date: May 17, 2022
Published: May 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let's be honest, it's rare that an incumbent GM blows up his own roster or at least to the extent that we probably need to reload the roster. The only caveat to this is if Gagliardi mandates the changes, but so far he has stayed pretty hands off. My guess is if Nill sticks around, you can expect Benn, Faksa, Seguin and Suter to stay and Klinger to maybe be re-signed.

This is what I would hope we do if a new GM comes in or if Gagliardi wants major changes...

Also, I put Khudobin on LTIR because he did have season ended surgery and there's a chance he calls it a career.

He’s played 77 total NHL games. Y’all gotta chill, lmao. He doesn’t have the games under his belt to command more than that. That AAV is more than Vasi got on his first extension…

Not what Detroit would be looking for if Bertuzzi was to be traded. I like Lindell but we would want Johnston back in a deal for him.

Nill likely saved his job with Dallas making the playoffs and taking Caigary to 7 games. A break here or there they could still be playing.

CHI hangs up the phone. That doesn't even get a conversation started.

CHI going to need more.

Probably going to need Dellandrea + 2nd for Strome a 50 point NHL Centre.

Lindell's rels are awful and with the LHD prospects they have why would Detroit trade Bertuzzi for him. Only 2 Dallas players had a higher ppg than Bertuzzi and Dallas was a much better team.

I live in Chi, Strome and Kubalik are not being re-signed. People aren’t happy about it. I’m fine with adding but his value isn’t what you think it is considering he’s leaving.

I’m down with adding value to get the deal done but your basically asking for our top prospect. Idk that i do that.

Lindell is the most complete DMan on our team. He’s been Klingbergs best friend for 5 years. Analytics don’t always tell the story. The dude is solid. He’d be perfect for Seider.

DET/DAL trade benefits neither of them
I do think oettinger will get more than you put on here, but it is likely between the AAV of Sorokin's contract for 3(ish) years
It probably takes an added 2nd rd pick for san jose to think about it, Seguin has more term even though your deal does include RS
A strome package probably works around the 2022 first plus another solid asset
It will take at least one 2nd to clear Radek

I'm sorry but I really don't care who his best friend is it doesn't make him a better hockey player. Lindell's rels are horrible and I'm pretty sure Edvinsson is a much better partner for Seider. You do know Dallas had Edvinsson at the top of their board at last years draft.

Dude….did you really think by best friend I meant like his actual best friend in real life? I meant his best friend on the ice… because Lindell rarely makes mistakes is always reliable it gave Klingberg the freedom to take risks.

If you wanna paid a sophomore with a rookie, then by all means but that’s how you pick in the lottery for a decade. You gotta pair your prospects with reliable vets.

Ok but it doesn't change the fact that his metrics are awful and he isn't worth Bertuzzi only 2 players on Dallas had a higher ppg. Would you trade Hintz for Hronek? because the comparison is pretty close.

With an extension he's 100% worth a top center prospect. We don't need Lindell Detroit's LD prospects are just as good and close to NHL ready.

Seguin is miles worse than Burns. Not unless you retain half of that contract do the sharks even consider

point of trading burns would be to save cap.

The Sharks get a worse player signed for longer and save no money here. Doesn't make sense.

Every planet that plays hockey? He's a PPG player on a really bad team, plays an excellent defensive game and plays with a grit and physicality that most teams covet.

Brother, who do you think is taking Burns at 37yo at 8m for 3 more years without y’all taking a contract back?? That’s how that works. You’ve 3 terrible D contracts, you’re swapping one out for a forward K here.
