Pittsburgh can't just take on Burns $8,000,000 contract without sending back similar cap.

They sent back 6.2 mil here.... They are also losing Letang in this scenario and maybe Malkin. They can afford it

Wonder if we could flip Pettersson to Vancouver I heard somewhere they were interested in him.

I dont think he would be the worst to have on the team, but is a little pricey. Could play him one year and dump him at the offseason to make room for Meier contract.

Yeah he's fine but it's more money and term than I'd want to take on even though he's probably more or less worth it. At least it's a moveable contract.

Sharks should not be offering anyone a 8yr deal.
Dahlen not getting 2M
I dont hate the pittsburgh Idea and pittsburgh if they let their FA go has almsot 30M in space

Yeah I think its a pretty reasonable deal and a team that Burns might be interested in playing for which is important.

Agree. 8 years on Nichushkin is a big mistake.

Nichushkin is kind of player that has success because he plays for amazing team, don't let that fool you.
He is not 5.75mil worthy and certainly not 8 years worthy. My price would be 4 mil x 2 years if we are realistic.

And the sharks had two when they traded for Kahkonen? You can’t just always be okay with terrible play

I disagree about him being not that good, but I wouldn’t want to give him 8 years. I think he’s very underrated by people but his analytics have been amazing for years

Terrible play? Smith posted a .915 this year and Skinner was .913 - that's above average.

Hill had a .906, not sure why you're so convinced they'd be interested at all, let alone willing to part with a 2nd to get a 3rd string goalie they'd likely lose to waivers anyhow.

Do you really trust mike smith to maintain that? I still like Adin Hill and believe he’s got potential to be a good starter when he’s not injured, the sharks just have no room for him.

Why not? He was .923 last year and he's currently .938 through 7 playoff games. I don't think .915 is an unreasonable expectation next year.

I like him too, the Oilers just have no room for him.

Alright to each their own, it’s not like I’m being very proposterous. Koskinen is horrible

The three trades are reasonable , but yikes re: Nichushkin! His stats are sandbagged being in a highly talented Avs team, and 8 years is way too long in term. Given what we saw with Donskoi this season, I'd be wary of targeting Avs UFAs for Top 6 wingers.

??

Koskinen is not on Edmonton's roster next year. He has nothing to do with this.

And one is 41yr old mike smith who was injured at least 3 times. If anyone needs a 3rd insurance goalie its edmonton. you wont have Koskinen to put in for long stretches next year.

No, they'll have Skinner to put in for long stretches next year. And Koskinen is a UFA, so if they feel they need a 3rd goalie they could easily bring him back.
