Dude, I’m a Sabres fan
But CHI will get better offers for Kane
And he isn’t gonna waive to come here

Maybe we make the playoffs next year & can try to get him as a UFA, but right now he has no interest

I think Buffalo is definitely an up and coming team and they really turned it on 2nd half when Tuch came back. Next year with a full year of Owen Power, Jack Quinn, Cozens... I think a player like Kane would push them over the edge and that would be enticing to Kane. HOWEVER, what it would take to get Kane in a trade would hamper progress because it'll cost you likely a top 6 (Mittlestadt?), a top prospect (Quinn?) and 1-2 1sts.

I don’t think we’d pay that price for a rental-
as he wouldn’t push us to the point where we were Cup contenders
That’s just too much to give up to make the playoffs & lose to TB/FLA in the 2st round
Just doesn’t make sense for the timeline we are on

And i think Kane would Veto the trade for somewhere else where he’s got a better chance to win
I’m sure he’ll have other options

Yeah I don't think it makes sense either. But he's also not necessarily a rental as I'm sure if a team is going to spend that much they may want some assurances that Kane will stay longer. Plus, Buffalo I'd suspect would be somewhere he might want to resign with if he were traded there and the team made the playoffs.

There’s no way at all to know if he’d re-sign, and if he’d do it for a contract we’d be ok with
So giving up what it would take to get him makes zero sense
Especially when we aren’t “ready” for a guy like that to be able to make much of a difference
And when we could just target him as a UFA the following offseason if we really wanted him and he really wanted us

We are not gonna trade for Pk88 this summer
And again, he wouldn’t waive to come here anyways

You are not buying Kane, you are paying something to Chicago, because Kane wants to play for hometown Sabres. This is the only path, this trade is ever going to happen.

Yes, I am light. But I don't think it costs as much as it seems on the surface. He's aging, and on an expiring contract. Although very good, I'm not sure Chicago gets a kings ransom for him if they aren't comfortable letting him go to FA and walk for nothing. I'm also not naïve and know it won't be Buffalo that offers all they want for him if, in fact, they move him for a ransom.

Obviously u know that it’s not gonna happen, so…..

To say how utterly unrealistic the proposed trade is,
obviously

Age doesn't matter for his play style, he put up 90+ points on the worst team he's ever played on in his career. Teams will definitely pay up.

I’ve seen a lot of people post about how he’s aging. He’s 33. He has like 7 more years left lol. He’s almost never injured. He never puts himself in a position to be checked. He put up his 3rd highest career points and either tied or was close to his career high in assists. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One day people will realize Kane is aging, but like Crosby. His play isn't aging, he still has it all.
